Hi guys, I'm getting different feedback from my friend that is now in Japan.

Some say is cold, some said just nice. I was wondering what should I prepare to wear? I don't wanna overpack.

Curious on how many layer to wear on day and night. There's heater in the hotel, so do we still need to wear long sleeve and long pants to sleep?

Which place you visiting? Now consider winter season even Tokyo can reach 3-4 degree during night and around 10 during day. If you type of wake up and out early or travel till late night then consider wear more. For myself I wear uniqlo heattech innerwear (upper and lower body) with normal t-shirt, jeans and winter jacket enough for me on 0 degree weather.

I'm going to Tokyo. the heatteach at uniqlo mostly long sleeve I saw.

Thanks for the input guys. Never been to Japan during winter.

I went Changchun China end of September when it starts to cool down everyday.
Guangzhou during November and Taipei during January.
I'm guessing this time Japan will be colder.
