Hi guys! I would like to get your advice on my 2 weeks plus trip in Kyoto, Osaka, and Shira region during late Dec.

Day 1 - Arrive @ Kansai and head to kyoto
Day 2 - Day 4 - Kyoto
Day 5 - Kanazawa
Day 6 - Toyama
Day 7 - Shirakawago
Day 8 - Takayama
Day 9 - Nagoya
Day 10 - Day 15 - Osaka (as base to Nara and Kobe) New years eve in Osaka.

The trip is gonna be quite chill.

You're moving to a different place everyday, I won't consider that chill, would you hmm.gif it'll be very hectic to unpack and pack again, then lug your luggage around - up down buses, trains. In fact by not staying longer at 1 place, you're not able to maximize the sight seeing you can do. Note that most places close at 4 or 5pm.

Thanks for taking your time to reply!

Do you suggest maybe staying in Kanazawa for 2 - 3 nights, Shirakawago 1 night (As we would like to stay in one of those farm houses), then to Nagoya? I am planning to send off my luggage from kyoto to osaka and just hand luggage.

I had a look at those JR passes and found a tourist pass called Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass, do you recommend getting this pass? I calculated the expenses for my trip and don't think buying JR pass will save my cost.
