Now is just some minor rain and hopefully by 48 hrs the whole city able to restore.

There may be disruption of flight from 4 Sept till 9 Sept. And also do take note that the bridge linking airport and city also damage. Train not working but not sure car can or not. Bro... I think better keep checking your flight n status there more frequently. Hope everything will be ok for u. Got buy insurance hor?

Anyone there right now? I'd like to know how tokyo is dealing with typhoon jebi.

The reason I'm asking is because I need to go there for work next weekend but I have a friend that is in osaka right now and he's saying that Kansai airport is flooded so  badly that Airasia told him to move to Haneda to catch a flight back home as Kansai is not in operating condition. How is tokyo doing?
*
Nothing happen in tokyo. The typhoon is at osaka

I was surprise too during my first exchg to yen but I never have any problem when paying for small amount for item like 200 yen items or even tickets. They wont give u eyes like Malaysia.. "beli brang RM1 kasi RM 50 buat apa"
*
Mine lagi power... Normally at end of ur trip u sure got a lot of coins left over. At 1 drug store the cashier saw me took out so many coins. She ask do i want to change those coins to note. I was like ok oh... Give her all the coins then she masuk to the register machine auto count auto keluar note.

Which is more recommended to travel to Osaka from KLIA?

Direct flight MAS is about 2000 round trip
ANA to Itami via Narita is about 2500 round trip

Never board ANA before so thinking to give a try
*
Although ANA is better than MAS but not to say MAS very bad. Its just ANA is better. But ur case i would take direct flight save the money, time and energy. Transit make me more fatigue. And 500 i will take it to buy 1 G-Shock. Hehe...

Thanks for the tip. If you drive to kanazawa from kyoto means you are taking the seaside route rather than the route from Nagoya right? Btw, did you purchase JEP or CEP for your drive? I am wondering if CEP would be good enough as it is cheaper compared to JEP.
*
I think my sis use the CEP card which is 7k yen something for 4 days. Not sure izit seaside route but i know i bypass hikone then fukui then kanazawa. I did see the junction to nagoya. Almost 5h to reach kanazawa. Of course can fast la... But we not dare to drive fast.

*

nice view across Tsuruga bay! the Hokuriku expressway rest stop name is Suizu (杉津) or you can directly search for 恋人の聖地 愛のハートロック 杉津PA 下り biggrin.gif

will add this to my stop by list when my parent come and visit me next month
*
ya... the rest area called suizu... thanks bro... another wow feeling while driving for first time to kanazawa-shirakawago-takayama, the amount of tunnels in these area god damn a lots... tunnels cut through one mountain after mountain until i lost count how many tunnels i went through. i wonder how long they took to build this expressway.

We will be travelling to Japan for our first time in July 2019 via the new AirAsia flight path to Fukuoka. We will be there for a week.

Anything to see/do in Fukuoka area and the south of the island in summer, or should we take the Shinkansen to Osaka/Kyoto area?

Hi guys, i'm traveling to Japan with my family on April and hope to get some insight/suggestion from you guys smile.gif

1. Can i still witness cherry blossom during mid April? My research seems indicate that the bloom usually occur during end of march to early april

2. Is it recommended to tackle Tokyo+Osaka+Nara+Kyoto in 10 days?

My plan is as follow, not sure if it would be too tiring as i'm leading a group of 8 with 4 seniors (50+)

Day1-4
Flight to Tokyo
Check in Hotel in Tokyo
Travel around Tokyo for 4 days

Day 5-6 to Osaka via shinkansen (JR pass activation)
Check in hotel in Osaka
Spend the day around Osaka

Day 7 to Nara via shinkansen from Osaka (Day Trip)
Travel around Nara
Return to Osaka via shinkansen after dinner

Day 8 to Kyoto via shinkansen from Osaka (Day Trip)
Travel around Kyoto
Return to Osaka via shinkansen after dinner

Day 9 to Kyoto via shinkansen from Osaka (Day Trip)
Travel the rest of Kyoto till around 3PM
Return to Osaka for dinner via shinkansen

Day 10
Checkout at 2PM
Linger around Osaka for a while and then shinkansen back to tokyo for flight
can stop for shopping at some tokyo station before heading to haneda airport
Is this feasible?  bruce.gif
*
What pass you use oh? Can shinkansen here shinkansen there... I didnt know nara got shinkansen 1...

Cherry blossom should be still able to see 1 la...

Hotel normally check out at 10am or 11am 1 oh...

Hotel and airbnb both got good n bad d la...

If big group and money is an issue or you think just a place to sleep only then go for airbnb lo...
Can share cost ma...
Can cook breakfast (save money also)...
Can wash cloth (this 1 the best for me)...
Friend n family bonding time 2gether... Chit chat before sleep...

But most airbnb only got 1 toilet & 1 shower room so get ready to queue la... And airbnb mostly out of city but u still can get near those less known station 1 la... Like 2 or 3 station away from main station. And ya... Luggage is an issue also. Need to drag and look for the home. If you travel with elders age 60 above get ready kena ask why so far 1 oh... Kena ask this and that while you pening looking for the home.

If travel in couple or pair just go for hotel only la... Since even share the price also same like airbnb. Hotel Mostly near city and easy to locate. 24/7 services. More comfortable bed and good sleep. Daily cleaning...

Cant cook and wash cloth in my only issue if stay hotel la... I prefer eat breakfast 1st before go out as i felt if look breakfast outside kinda time wasting and i dont really like Japanese hotel breakfast. For me its too simple for me and less choice. To be far i have to say i not richfag la only stay 3 star or less punya hotel. Those highend hotel no experience yet.

i stay 4 airbnb & 8 hotels throughout my last few trip. those issue doesn't affect much on my trip la... Still enjoy travelling around japan.
