Hi guys!
I've tried to search for the answer by googling but can't find any solution.
I'm travelling to Hakone for 2 days 1 night and I'm planning to purchase the Hakone Freepass.
I noticed that it can be purchased at the Odakyu line for a cheaper price, and I can pay a surcharge to reserve the Romancecar.
But the thing is, if I were to purchase the freepass when I am at Shinjuku, the Romancecar seats are probably all reserved.
Is there a way where I can reserve the Romancecar online before I reach Japan and also buy the freepass at the station?
Meaning I'm confused if there is a way where I don't haveto purchase the Romancecar ticket at a full price, I just have to pay it at the add-on price of the freepass.

Sorry if I'm confusing you all T-T
And thanks in advance!

Ohhh, so you suggest that I buy Hakone Freepas and reserve the romancecar at the station when I’m in Japan?
Is there a way to purchase in advance if I insist? šŸ˜‚
Thanks!!

you can buy the freepass in JTB malaysia, you can ask the advance ticket for romancecar by phone call, or direct go to their counter

Thanks! I've called JTB to ask if it's possible to reserve romancecar in advance, but the staff told me that the only way that I can actually reserve seats on romancecar is at the Shinjuku station. sad.gif
Thanks alot though!

If he use that to book, he is paying a full Romancecar fare.

However if he purchase the Hakone pass, there is a discount when you get the Romancecar ticket. Because the Hakone pass already included train ride from Shinjuku to Hakone, but it's the normal express train. You can top up a little to the pass to upgrade to Romancecar which is faster and more comfortable.

The dilemma he's facing now is that how to go about this because he doesn't have Hakone pass yet but worried there's no more seats in Romancecar. So he wants to find a way to reserve the seat in Romancecar with top up rate from the Hakone pass.

You can reserve it online with CC. Don't worry, you are just paying for the surchage.

Try to reserve as early as possible if you want the observation deck seats. Surcharge fee is the same

Hi, thanks alot for the reply! Is CC the link you sent earlier?

Yes.

Actually now that I recall back, I actually did several bookings initially (just booked only, not need give CC details) before I eventually purchase it nearer to my travel date
