Another region you can look at is the Hokuriku region (Kanazawa, Toyama, Takayama). Key attractions - Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Kurobe Dam, Kenrouken Garden in Kanazawa

Ideally go in May (after Golden Week) so that Alpine Route won't be too crowded. Also, i think Kurobe Dam is not open to access until May also
*
Kurobe Dam April 15 already can access
If want boat ride at Dam water then June
April Alpine route are most crowded but rewards was tallest snow wall

Bro.. any good accomodation to recommend around Arima? Prices are very high to Malaysian standards.
*
All Ryokan Onsen are very expensive. RM700 - 1200 per night
But they do open daytime for those non accommodation people. About 800 - 2000 Yen

You can try Goshobo at Arima Onsen (11:00 - 14:00) open for non accommodation
1600 Yen per entry.

Someone suggested I stay the night there for the experience. Worth the money for that experience?
*
if you willy to spend so much money. I wont recommended Arima liao.
Should be Hakone or Lake Kawaguchiko. Got Mt Fuji as view, more worth the money.

i have that in my itinerary as well...but it's a bit far from osaka....

arima vs shirahama...in your opinion which one more worth the effort ?
*
Shirahama got ocean view
Arima no view , only can see forest

I'm having the same schedule in next 2 weeks as well.
Hopefully can catch the last trip limousine bus to Kyoto at 11.42pm.
*
Takes Premium Seat / Quiet Zone Seat can cut down your time 10 - 20 minute faster
Because you allow to disembark first biggrin.gif
Money buy over time

Premium Seat got priority baggage claim also....even faster

will itami airport clear custome/immig. faster?
not sure to change hotel to stay nearby itami and search for transportation next morning to osaka city.arrive itami around 7.40pm
*
Itami Airport are Domestic airport, no immigration check, only have safety security check [for Departure only]
Q at morning & afternoon rush hour are alot people. Itami > Haneda route are super busy

IF you say arrival Itami, it just disembark from aircraft, go baggage claim section, and exit the airport.

drive directly from Chubu centrair-> northern area then return at nagoya.
not too bad , around rm1.3k for 7days (honda Fit size equivalent)
getting CEP+AIP pass
*
I am very interest on this part biggrin.gif

Tateyama Alpine route was one way from Dentetsu Toyama Station > Shinano Omachi
Or you just plan until Kurobe Dam only? then back to Dentetsu Toyama Station

I believe your car will be park at Toyama. From Shinano Omachi back to Toyama city by public transport? [If you complete entire Alpine Route]

Most of people I know, after Tateyama Alpine Route, from Shinano Omachi STation to Matsumoto City. From there either go Tokyo / Nagoya.
But you are driving, very interest here

Hi, i have a question about Kansai Thru Pass and JR Kansai Hiroshima pass.

- Can the Jr Kansai Hiroshima pass be used on local buses at Himeji and Amanohashidate?
No, Because Himeji and Amanohasidate bus are not operated by JR West

- Can the Kansai Thru pass be used on local buses in Kyoto and Nara?
Yes

I have checked the eligibility for both buses and  Jr Kansai Hiroshima pass said they cover all JR buses, and gave a link in Japanese for the stops included. (I can't read japanese)
JR Kansai Hiroshima Pass only cover JR WEST buses

While for Kansai Thru Pass, it mentions coverage KYOTO BUS and KYOTO KEIHAN BUS, i don't know if that's all the buses that generally we will need to move around Kyoto attractions. Also, Nara buses are not listed, or is it listed under Kyoto Buses?
Nara no need buses, from Nara Train Station just walking distant to Nara park + Temple

Just book air ticket to Nagoya on 16th May to 26th May. My wife is fine not to have the cherry blossom season.

Later on I will need to get 5 days Tourism Pass to Toyama area, which include Alpine route. And need to decide the route and place to stay as I will expect to have multiple "hotel hop" throughout these 10 days.

This time I seriously need to travel light. Last time during traveling in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo with 4 luggages are really killing me. But of course it makes me loosen my weight down by 2kg in 2 weeks. lol
*
Alpine Route on May still snowing condition. So you need winter clothes.
But rest of the day are Spring season clothes.

Winter clothes eat alot luggage space. You still can't travel light liao biggrin.gif

Still snowing? really ? My wife and I have never seen and experience snowing at all in my whole life. Thanks for telling me. How's the temperature there?
*
Temperature at Alpine Route during May are 3 Celsius to 10 Celsius
You still able to see Snow Wall and do snow activities at Murodo

Hello fellow forumers,

First time travelling to Japan.

Will be landing in KIX Airport, Osaka at 9.20pm on 25th October by Cathay Airlines.

Will I still be able to take train/bus to Nagata Station, Osaka?

Tried to google the last train from KIX airport, couldn't find a direct answer icon_question.gif

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I tried to search through the forum, it doesn't seem to have an answer to this question yet.

Thank you in advance notworthy.gif

Last train leaving Kansai Airport at 2355 towards Namba
Last Limosine bus are 0300 towards Namba
Basically you wont out of transport.
