*
No worries hahaha it works like Touch N Go. If I recall correctly, the expiration is 10 years. I'm sure you'll be back again before 10 years laugh.gif

i didn't really do much in yokohama because I went there the last day, which means also the time when I got exhausted and want to slow down my pace. The only places I went is the Ramen Museum, Cosmo World, and some shopping in BIC there.

But if you're lucky and going on a clear day, you can take the ferris wheel in cosmo world and see mount fuji from far. It was cloudy when I was there, so no luck  bangwall.gif
*
Oh yes im interested in the ferris wheel. So its worth riding? Was there a long queue?

Seems like i need to put this in my itinerary happy.gif

Hnghhh just noticed the online requires RM20 shipping fee one time off. Am wondering if Uniqlo stores locally carries the collection in their retail. But even so, I can only drop by MV next Monday.

Thanks, that's 1 thing solved. At least can get my Gon shirt there.
Any idea how long do they keep for you?

QUOTE(mugenz @ May 2 2018, 05:41 PM)
Walao, I don’t understand the logic, in Japan the size range can go up to XXL but malaysia only till L

I see Japanese so petite. Tbh I find uniqlo Malaysia cutting too small. Sometimes XL like L
*
Wait, really? I think men's size is a bit bigger right? Coz I thought of ordering XS since it's unisex. Guess I should change to S size ohmy.gif
I thought the sizes are consistent, didn't notice this part.

they will set date and tell you collect by when

but if after the given date you didn't collect then I dunno la  laugh.gif
*
Walked in to one of the store, apparently collection around 3 days at the store. No idea what happens when collect late coz item had been paid for anyway haha. But better comply if possible to make it.

QUOTE(mugenz @ May 2 2018, 10:41 PM)
Just what I noticed la..

Actually the difference is when America vs Asian clothing
Since uniqlo Asia brand hence the cutting should be smaller but it will be same as Malaysia.

Better check size chart for measurement smile.gif
*
No worries, i walked in to one of the store and bought 1. Size is indeed quite small for Unisex wear haha. Bought XS, good enough for me imo.

They only have HxH and Yuyu Hakusho collection. Sadly according to the staff, the popular ones like Bleach, Naruto and OP is only available in major Uniqlo stores like Sunway Pyramid, 1U and MV :'( its due to limited stocks.

Hnghhhh too bad i'm only flying next month, otherwise can get from the Uniqlo there.

P/s: the paper bag from uniqlo is shounen jump version ♡♡♡♡♡ i will share the picture tomorrow.

hi im planning for 13 days trip to osaka kyoto hakone tokyo in june during school holiday. 2 adults 2 kids age 4 and 1y4m.
may i know anyone had experienced theit Tsuyu aka raining season? is it really very bad? how about the humidity? worse than Malaysia? we plan for 9-21 June coz its school holiday so my kid won’t miss class. advise appreciated, thank you
*
I believe in June it's still not so bad yet in terms of the Tsuyu. You can check out the weather in advance, it's pretty accurate. For example, I looked up the Osaka weather in June: https://www.accuweather.com/ja/jp/osaka-shi...-weather/225007

Not sure which day you'll be in Osaka but according to the link's forecast, there's a number of sunny days. No doubt there are few rainy days, so just plan indoor activities on day it's forecasted to rain. Knowing the weather will help to plan your trip smoother.

In fact, I was in Tokyo end Nov-early Dec and was hit with rain often. However, the rain were not consistently long; they often stop after while. Get raincosts or umbrellas on standby.

When taking train some of the trams/coach are for elders/luggage/females. If for trams for luggage at the end much bigger so you can put ur stroller/luggage etc etc.

Look on the floor of the waiting line, there got signs of what kind of special tram/coach

A few times i have no choice but go take rush hour train with luggage, i felt the passengers didn't like it. I think their culture of how they walk "blindly" and dont care about surrounding janji reach office on time. Often bang into ppl, luggage, tourist that is standing finding the platforms. lol
*
Yes, that's why I don't want to bagpack or bring my big luggage around as I travel around (moving accommodation every 1-2 days). It causes inconvenience to others as the space in subway is very cramped during rush hour. Even on an average weekday non-peak time, you'll see a lot of people in the train.

I think tourists are the 'blur' ones, not understanding that it's giving others inconvenience by carrying a big bag around. Small ones usually do not cause any problem but due to long hours outside, as tourist, we tend to carry big bags (backpackers' bag are even worse as it's huge). At such, put the bag down and hold it with your hand. I admit in the past, I've also hit some people with my bag when it's crowded. While I apologized, damage done. So from then on, I only carry a small sling type handbag. All I need is my passport, money, phone, a packet of tissue and power bank. It was a lot lighter and easier to go around.

This is HK, but the inconvenience faced is universal sweat.gif

They go to work so serious lol, the face all like "doomed" or "poker face"..

Yes they have. I remember seeing them before and totally agree with it. Most of the tourists carry a bag pack around and often hit others with it. I have also gotten hit before when this guy turn around to exit sweat.gif

They're a very stressed nation, be it students or working adults. You'll only probably see a smile if it's a group of happy girls giggling and you happen to make eye contact with them hahahahaha

Even so, I heard the trend had changed in some places where they encourage staffs to go home after work.

that elderly man must be very thankful. kidda surprise that priority seat are usually also taken up by normal people. sometimes even some elderly may refuse to seat when you offer
*
From what I read and understand from a Japanese friend, sometimes the elderly do not want the seats. They do not want to be viewed as 'incompetent' or 'old' so as to need priority seats. In fact, some may act in dismay when you offer the seat to them.

Yes, he was thankful. We were hesitating at first but well, what da heck, if the didn't want it he can always just reject. We would have felt more uncomfortable for not offering the seat in the first place.

Yes I usually do. As long as I have around 2-3 weeks' expiry time it's okay. Whenever I get souvenirs, I'll want to give them out ASAP preferably within the first week sweat.gif

Ok, done some adjustment. For day 1 is that doable? day 2 will be the whole day in Disney. for day 3 am wondering how long actually can one spend in Odaiba? for day 4, I remove Shinjuku since its too pack. For day 5, I slot in Hakone and Shinjuku due to same route. Beside Tokyo Tower, any place to visit in that region?

Any comment?
*
You will need to check the opening hours of stores and shrines. They're not like Malaysia, open till late.

Day 1 - Ginza Uniqlo, GU etc closes at 9pm, for your info.
Day 2 - After Disneyland, I'm not sure you'll still have energy left to shop at Don Quijote. But anyway you can try, coz it's 24 hours.
Day 3 - You can actually board the water bus from Asakusa all the way to Odaiba. Very pleasant ride, just to share.
Day 4 - Hate to break this to you but Meiji Shrine closes at 6pm; however around 5.30pm they will start to announce. And it's a long walk from the front tori to the shrine itself. Easily 15-20min depending on your pace. Don't forget you'll have to allocate the time to walk back to the entrance to leave the shrine.
Harajuku starts closing around 7-8pm.

P/S: FINALLY HOME!!! Had a pleasant trip but also a fair share of misfortunes; some of you in the chat group and my FB will know. I'll share it again on a separate post here.

Just came back yesterday from my trip. The course of our travel:
Haneda >> Yokohama >> Enoshima + Kamakura >> Shibazakura >> Lake Yamanaka >> Lake Kawaguchi >> Tokyo (Asakusa, Harajuku, Odaiba, Shibuya, Ginza etc) >> Kinugawa >> Nikko >> Tokyo >> Narita

To share, mid May till end May – weather is between 20 -28*c in the morning/ afternoon and easily go up to 16*c at night. You can don a t-shirt/ long sleeves with shorts (only wore long pants in 2-3x throughout the trip) if you want. But at night you’ll feel the cold air! Better to prepare a jacket for night time.

Rain: Only experienced rain 1 day (on the day where we were in Asakusa, Akiba, Ginza, Odaiba). It rained from 12 noon till… past midnight? It was still raining when we got back to accommodation at past 10pm.

Too long so it'll be 2-3 posts; I'll talk about the bad experience separately. First off, check out photos, tips and some recommendations:

Thank you so much for the info, I drop Ginza for this round. For the water bus, it's quite expensive to buy roundtrip ticket (3000yen). I decided to take on my way back to Asakusa only. I have move my Meiji Shrine to the morning before visiting Shibuya.

The updated itinerary will be like below:

Day1 - Asakusa>Ameyokocho>Akihabara

Day2 - Asakusa>Disneyland

Day3 - Tsukiji Market>Odaiba>Skytree/Solamachi Mall

Day4 - Harajuku/Meiji Shrine/Takeshita dori>Shibuya Area>Tokyo Tower

Day5 - Hakone>Shinjuku

Day6 - early flight back to Malaysia

Anything to add? Amend?
*
Looked good at the moment and it's more do-able than previous itinerary. I knew my group (and me too) was too greedy previously that our itinerary was pretty packed everyday. While we managed to do most of them, every morning it's hell trying to get up. Most people will understand this on... the 3rd day onwards hahahaha.

Just some additional comments/ pointers:
- Asakusa is really huge, but you'll see shops starting to open from 10.30 to 11am onwards. So even if you leave accommodation early, there's nothing to see yet.

- On Day 3, just take note that Tsukiji starts to close around noon or 1pm, so be sure to arrive early.

- In Odaiba, there are few things to do/ see: visit Fuji TV exhibit, chibi maruko cafe, Diver City's Gundam (check the performance time) and Decks (to see rainbow bridge, statue of liberty etc). So in my opinion, Odaiba is beautiful at night - both the Gundam and night view breath taking.

- Day 4, yes do Meiji >> Takeshita Dori. You can also buy bento/ sandwiches etc and eat in Yoyogi Park. Yoyogi Park is just next to Meiji Shrine. If you don't want to make the detour, then I suggest before going to Meiji purchase your lunch meals. After Meiji, straightaway head to Yoyogi and have a relaxing/ fun picnic. Then get to Takeshita Dori and have the Harajuku Crepes, Zaku Zaku ice cream etc

- Get your Hakone pass earlier and not on the day you're going. Buy in advance and I suggest to top up for Romancecar; it helps you get there faster and earlier. Ask the Odakyu counter about Romance car: https://www.odakyu.jp/english/romancecar/

- Lastly, everyday before leaving the hotel/ house, check the weather forecast. If there will be rain, prepare/ buy an umbrella beforehand. It helps a lot to prepare in advance.

No problem on the water bus, just a recommendation. At least you manage to do 1 way! I will assume you're staying in Asakusa throughout your trip? Wise choice icon_rolleyes.gif from Asakusa station, you can get to airport directly (be it Haneda or Narita) without any transit.

However the less-desirable part of it would be: staircase only. It's a pretty long way going down and then up some stairs in that station. There's no escalator nor lift.

Would love to recommend onsen if you could make time but unfortunately it already seemed pack and Hakone is only day trip. No worries, you'll find it slightly easier to plan the next time onwards wink.gif All the best and have fun!

QUOTE(Chaud @ May 30 2018, 09:09 AM)
for day 5 you have any particular place you wanna visit? I would suggest day 5 to put only Hakone so that you don't have to rush. you can put shinjuku into day 4. shinjuku and shibuya are like neighbour city
*
I think he probably meant Day 5's night time to visit Shinjuku's Kabukicho. I think by 5 or 6pm, the bus from Hakone to the station is getting lesser. As such, they will have no choice but to leave around that time. Likely to arrive back Shinjuku around 8+ latest. In that case, there's still time to visit Kabukicho for around 1-2 hours and have dinner there.

Besides, Kabukicho gets better the later it is biggrin.gif
