QUOTE(mugenz @ Apr 5 2018, 12:47 PM) oh ya.. omurice.. thanks for the suggestions. Gonna fly next week. It seems the weather is getting warmer. Maybe jeans, tshirt with sweater for night time. Not sure about short pants. Gonna have some jogger and sweat pants along. Omurice is nice to take video or photo but actually quite pricey haha Just touch down at Narita and it’s 12 degree

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Apr 5 2018, 11:44 AM) We're not FOREX experts, no one can foresee the trend. If it's good, just change some and keep. When one gets too greedy, they will end up losing money, unless extremely lucky. Expensive. Look at Page #1 Post #1 for SIM card recommendations. All info is there. yape. JTB right? does this mean we can actually buy our sim cards and the train pass in either Lot 10 or KLCC or imbi there? all those offices are still available? sorry. long time didnt go to KL already. Sarawak here.

Sarawak here. #1. Are you asking about the SIM you plan to buy? I have no idea because I don't go for expensive ones when there's cheaper and better alternatives. #2. If you're referring to other option of SIM, then like I said, check page #1 post #1. Everything is there.

Personally have not used them, probably someone else can comment. Option #2 I've bought from them a couple of times. They will courier to you directly at RM6 fee in Peninsular but if your total purchase >RM100, the delivery is FOC (also for Peninsular). It's more convenient for them to deliver straight to you.

Once you've got your rough itinerary, you can share it here for the rest to comment/ give suggestions to improve. not yet finalized. still in planning process. but basically is 8 days, tokyo - osaka. Btw. i've just open the fb link on this option: Travel sim Option 2 (3G/4G only, no calls) Hello1010: https://hello1010.my/country/asia/japan.htmlturns out in Japan 3G cannot connect to their network. Minimum 4G. Is that true? both our phones are only 3G phones. Quite old already. This post has been edited by qse150: Apr 5 2018, 05:08 PM

If you're going to do 3-4 days in Tokyo, it's rush and you won't get to enjoy much. You'll also need to get the JR pass for shinkansen which will easily cost you few hundred ringgit. Not sure about 3G. When I used it last year it was still okay (phone auto change mode 4G/3G) so i did not have any problem. Drop them a message or give the office a call.

Another option is to get our local DIGI prepaid card, buy a Roaming Pass for Rm25, you can get 2GB data + 30mins local call for 3 days. Total you only need Rm75 for 9 days total 6GB data.

Because 4 months back while i'm in China, i'm using Digi prepaid for roaming, I only top up Rm60 to buy twice Rm25+Rm25 pass for 6 days. Anyway, i going to Kyoto/Osaka this coming Sunday. I will update you on this method. But i'm very sure there is no such rules to maintain rm50 balance to purchase roaming data. This post has been edited by yoonyin: Apr 5 2018, 05:38 PM

Total you only need Rm75 for 9 days total 6GB data. if 2nd day finish up 2GB, then speed will be slow down? ok, just saw this ...so it is not slowing down but will charged at standard roaming rates, unless purchase the pass again... QUOTE 11. What will happen if I have used up my Roaming Pass Voice minutes and Internet roaming quota? If your Roam Pass Voice minutes and Internet quota are exhausted within the validity period, any subsequent roaming usages will be charged at standard roaming rates. Alternatively, you may purchase any additional Roaming Pass to continue enjoying Roaming voice calls and Internet roaming. but from your experienced, is 2GB enough use for 3 days? QUOTE(luvjim @ Apr 6 2018, 10:46 AM) but from your experienced, is 2GB enough use for 3 days? What does it matter what other people's experiences are? What matters is your own data usage pattern mah. If you gonna stream 4k video for a few hours a day on the train in the daytime then go to hotel backup your entire day's raw videos and photos to the cloud at night then of course it won't be enough. If you just whatsapp and Google maps then more than enough. Having said that, my last Japan trip I used 2.2gb in 8days (phone only).

I remember postpaid has something similar. Remember using it in Singapore.

May have been greedy at first. now after reading, realize wont be able to cover all the places in both area. So might be targeting a few places we want to visit. and this happens to be one of the places my wife and I wanna go. Is it really moving already? Or has it been delayed? https://www.star2.com/food/2018/03/02/tsuki...-move-on-track/
