I plan to visit Japan with my family (with a 4 years old and a 7 years old) at 2019 winter.
Main objective is to allow my kids to experience snow environment.
Any sifu here can recommend which month and where to go?
*
QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Aug 20 2018, 10:31 AM)
place: hokkaido
month: feb
*
QUOTE(Chaud @ Aug 20 2018, 10:33 AM)
definitely Hokkaido
Jan-Feb...so go on the early 2020
*
Jan & Feb are snow bizzard / snow storm at Hokkaido.
Hokkaido lowest temperature and thickest snow period.
It can go down as much as - 20 Celsius.
4 & 7 years old cannot withstand this kind of environment. Sure get frostbite

small kid first time encounter snow, shall be end of dec or early march.

Has anyone brought Malaysia`s hairdryer and iron over to Japan and if it works?

I know the socket is different and if I use universal travel adapter will it still work?
*
Malaysia to Japan just need socket converter only. Because Malaysia used 230V while Japan just 110V

If you buy electronic stuff from Japan to Malaysia need socket converter + step down. without step down, Malaysia 230V will instant ''Goreng'' ur electronic stuff.
But now 21 century, Japan also start making thier electronic stuff to 230V. Easy selling to whole world.

Do you mean something like this?
[attachmentid=9985609]

I wonder if the power of the wind that come out will still be strong if I use that socket converter?
*
Yes. Voltage Step down. From 230V drop to 110V.
If you plan to buy Japan electronic stuff and used on Malaysia.

Now that u mentioned about the vacuum bag... I need to get one!
Also, is it safe/legal to do jogging in the street of Japan? I know that during Autumn, daytime starts early and also ends early. My son and wife will still be sleeping in the morning so I plan to do some jogging in the early morning. I've never done this on my first trip so I'm a bit curious/cautious as to how Japanese people will think if they see a foreigner jogging along the walkway. I hope its not illegal?
*
you have to jog in park. cant do on street.
Japan street already pack of people going to work since 6am morning.

Hi all,
Sorry to cut in.
I am planning to take Airport Limo Bus from Tokyo Disneysea to Haneda Airport to catch a flight to Osaka on the 12-Dec morning. Appreciate if someone could advise me on below:
1) Will it be difficult to get a seat in the Limo Bus? I mean is it crowded?
2) Can I reserve the bus seat in advance?
3) If I were to take a taxi, how much does it cost? I will be traveling in a group of 4.
Thank you
*
Limo Bus won't overcrowded. The bus left on time or full seat. Example Bus left Disneysea on 8am. Bus will reach disneysea station at 7.30am. Once reach 8am the bus will leave station or before 8am (If the bus was full (40 seat fully occupied). If you taking Taxi, each person have to prepare RM110 // 3000 Yen

Hi guys, I want to ask a few questions about tax-free:

1) How to buy anything (tax-free), just show our passport to the cashier?
2) How many quantities of tax-free items allowed?? per receipt or total?
3) Can I put the tax-free items in the luggage or need to hand carry??
4) At the airport, need to check the tax-free item before checking in the luggage??

Thank you in advance, never had any experience buying tax-free items from overseas.
*
1) You have to go Tax refund counter to get tax refund.
2) As long you spend 10,000 Yen above per receipt, you are qualified for tax refund.
3) It does't matter
4) No.

do i need to get a translated copy or anything?

Just need IDP and your Malaysia Driving License.
They will do photocopy when you doing paperwork at car rental.

Thanks!

So to confirm, on my side I do not have to prepare any translated copy?
*
Malaysia IDP are part of The 1949 Geneva Convention. Japan also part of it. So no translation copy needed.

Translation copy need are for those country not included in 1949 Geneva such as Taiwan

There's an Access Express Train run from Haneda Airport to Narita Airport that it will pass by Asakusa Line. Take that Train (Keikyu-Kuko Line) it's a Non-reserved seating metro train just like our rapid KL LRT. It stop at certain station sometimes it get too crowded as well. The Metro 1/2/3 day pass not eligible for this ride. only for Suica or Pasmo metro card usage.
*
Haneda to Narita express Train still under planning for 2020 Olympic Games.
It will using current JR NEX express train + Collaboration with Keikyu Corp. [Shinagawa to Haneda airport Railway tracks are belong to Keikyu Company]
Collaboration process still under going.

Current Haneda Airport Keikyu Line only reach Shinagawa Station.

Keisei are private line + Keihin also Private line + Toei Asakusa also private line
Easy to get collaboration.

JR are Govt. Govt also planning to link up this 2 airport for Olympic games. Govt with private section not easy due to profit sharing % margin
If success. It will part of JR rail passes.

yea, i am referring to Google Map also.. but when i search for more info.. all the info i found stops at Shinagawa station haha
taking ANA biggrin.gif will be reaching around 10pm
*
Due to Narita Airport was In Land Airport. Due to Noisy pollution Law, Narita Airport only operates until 8Pm
Since Narita Airport already closed on 8pm, This Haneda to Narita Access Express i doubt it will still operates at 10pm.
Dont put high hope on this way.

I will still stick to Haneda to Sengakuji way then transfer to Metro to Asakusa

Hi, this is regarding Tokyo Disneyland ticket

Is it better to purchase the ticket online or buy over the counter ?

What is the recommended website to purchase the ticket ?

TQ
*
Buy ticket normally less ppl. Even holiday peak season also not much people at Ticket Counter.
Most jam pack was entrance side only. Entrance scan ticket part are most worst.

Buy online only save you 15 - 30 minute from buying ticket at tix counter only.
