QUOTE(bazarayamy @ Aug 15 2018, 10:26 AM) i love tea... all kind of tea, from herbal tea like crysanthemum, rooibos, to more common darjeeling or oolong... last year friend of mine gave me a small pouch of tea (around 150gm) that he bought from china and its called 滇紅茶... (sorry idk how to read what it is...) i love it... but it's finished but do any of you know where to buy it in malaysia... i showed the packaging to some of the chinese shop and they dont have it. That tea is also called yunnan red/black tea. Mandarin read as "dian hong" tea. It's produced in another region apart from Pu erh. Try to ask tea shops maybe they have something similar. If can not find then try Pu erh tea see if it suits you. Those are highly oxidized tea, however dian hong tea has more tea buds so it is considered as gourmet tea. QUOTE(bazarayamy @ Aug 17 2018, 09:09 AM) thank you... i tried pu erh too... as per recommendation by the shop person... but while i like it, it is not the same thing im looking for... is it difficult to find here in malaysia? as the shops i been asking dont sell it. anyone can suggest any shops around kL? True, both have different taste profile. Pu erh is using small leaf type while dian hong is big leaf type, that's why more aromatic. Since there are so many types of teas i doubt local shops carry them all. Try order online if you really can't find it here. Have you tried Ten Ren tea shop? I searched their website they have Yunnan black tea, same with dian hong. But only oversea outlets have it. You might wanna try call and ask the local outlet. Remember to inquire about Yunnan black tea, or dian hong. http://www.tenren.comThis post has been edited by babybobby: Aug 17 2018, 03:18 PM

QUOTE(bazarayamy @ Aug 17 2018, 03:36 PM) Thank you very much.! i didnt know that it is also called yunnan black tea.... that makes it way easier to search. Yeah and on that tenren website they offer different grades of dian hong as well, higher grade means more tea buds, sweeter taste. Goodluck shopping.
