Hi guys, i got a problem thats similar to this post :

Basically, i have 3rd party MiniDP to VGA adapter, and uses a vga cable to connect my mbp 13" 2015 to dell s2216h. But black bars come out from left side and my 15% right portion of my mac screen is not displayed. Its like the display is shifted more towards the right. Plus, when i check the display properties, it showed my 22" display to only 13.9".

I know about EDID but trying to change all those data and crsutil disable thingy, broke my macbook. Now restoring using time machine.

What kind of help do you seek?

If it's the adapter, then get a new one (3rd party or not). It could be a faulty adapter.

If it's your mac and restoring doesn't work, then... try the new High Sierra

i just bought the same monitor. using miniDP-to-HDMI though, works fine on my macbook air 2012.
