The overweight oversized lady dat offers nice body grip and functions? Or the slimmer sexier less grippy less functional chick? That is the question. Damned i hate to be a dilemma like this T_T, which one to go for? The i like the A570IS more for its IS and manual functions. But then the size and unstylishness is drawing me back. The Ixus 70 on the other hand looks sexier in a boxy way and is slimmer thus more pocketable but then lacks in IS and manual functions. Reviews on Cnet have shown both cameras produce good pictures with PnS photos. However the user feedback for the IXUS 70 from dpreview told a contradicting story with the Cnet reviews, whereby the Dpreview users have complained of blurry pictures w but the Cnet users overwhelmingly praised it taking excellent photos. Who should i trust? Mobility is a issue for me, i would surely like to place a camera in my pocket, but then i would also like to play around with the functions while i shoot photos with shakey hands. I know its imposible to enjoy them all and would have to sacrifice one at the end of the day, but for you all pros in lowyat.net, which one is the better choice? Could the pros out there help out this noobie make a decision? I know by throwing in couple hundred more bucks i could probally get the best of both worlds, but then my RM900-1000 budget limited my scope and choices T_T. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the feedback actually i don't only want a PnS camera and would like to play around with the functions like marco, shutter speed, ISO and so on, but then convinience and style is an issue too. Which one do you guys think should be sacrifised in order fore the other to survive? Thanks!

it's not a matter of sacrifice, it's a matter of hunting for the right camera for yourself.

QUOTE(goldfries @ Apr 27 2007, 01:10 PM) it's not a matter of sacrifice, it's a matter of hunting for the right camera for yourself. well if i had a better budget i probaly could get the best of both worlds on better cameras like the Fuji F31D, but then my budget is limited to two of these. i love both of them, but i cant get both of them, they have their own pro and cons so in the end of the day i can only choose one. Both of them are the right camera for me, if the A570IS does not exist i would go for the IXUS 70 straight away, likewise for the IXUS 70. If this is not sacrificing one for another, what is this? you should buy a compact that has IS or high usable iso like fuji.
570IS is NOT compact, too big to carry, you will leave it at home after 3 months. ixus70 has no IS.
for under 1k, you can get fuji z5fd, high iso not that good compare to the F series. or buy lumix fx12 that has IS.

Which one do you guys think should be sacrifised in order fore the other to survive? Thanks! The why the heck you ask somemore ... Powershot 570IS-lah. The Powershot series gives you all the convenience you need, starting from AA-size batts, no need to ludge a charger around during short day trips. You want STYLE-ah? Then there are MORE brands out there that can give you STYLE ... maybe you should do some survey and come back more confused! You want good images, convenience and flexibility, stay at the Powershot series.
