I have been searching high and low for a L shaped shower curtain rod with ceiling support but can't find it. I even called some big time hardware shops in Singapore and they don't have it. Apparently only IKEA has it, but it does not have ceiling support. From my past experience, without the support, the rod will sag after few months sad.gif

I got one at Ginmit but my contractor does not know how to fix it! Apparently will need to bend and saw (instructions in some foreign language, so we can only guess by looking at the photos)

Anyone can advise where to to buy in JB?

Thanks!

Foreign language can use Google to translate. Try that first and see if that helps. Perhaps the product's manufacturer have a website etc.

How your curtain roll on it with the ceiling support ?

I have 2 set in my bathroom without ceiling support. Got it from metro, MV.

have to gentle pull the curtain. It will sag down if too hard. But you can push back into the flange.

Been using for over 10yrs.

The 'hook' or the 'loop' holding the curtain is evenly spread out and the bar connecting to the ceiling is nearer to the bend, so that when you pull the curtain, it will open till the bend, which is more than enough space. Something like hospital curtains.

For some (like the one I bought), there is a 'cap' on top of the rod which connects to the bar, whereas the bottom part of the rod is not affected. The hooks can move freely, but it needs to be fixed in before screwing the rod at both ends.

I used to use one I bought from IKEA. For 15 years. It sagged so bad I used to tie-cable to secure one end to the window grille. But now I replaced the window with a smaller window, and no grille at all. So would prefer a permanent solution as I have no way of replacing it unless some good soul volunteer to fix it for me smile.gif Right now since I'm renovating, I'm getting my contractor to do it. Who knows his indon worker scratched his head and ask me how... haahah!!

if you want L shape, maybe can connect 2 rods with a 90deg bend like how piping does it. then each end screwed to the wall using wall hook.

the 90deg bend will not be slightly not smooth as it's thicker than the rods.

Problem is it will sag after a while. So I'm looking for something with ceiling support. Am checking with some contractors if they can custom-made. Seems like impossible to find in this part of the world smile.gif

Even if can source, the issue is placement trade off for avoiding two sets of shower curtains esp mid way in between where the weight distribution support is balanced. To overcome this, there are what's called in the UK as semi open shower curtain rings/hooks. In the US it's called open top shower curtain rings.

with a ceiling support, the curtains won't be able to pass tru that area, so you will need 2 curtains between the L.

have you consider like shower glass screen & door instead?

i can imagine how the curve area will sag over time. but not much can be done about it unless you have 2 screens, then you can mount a support to the ceiling at the L point.

As I explained earlier... there are 2 types. One, the rings attached to the curtain are spread out evenly along the rod. When you open the curtain, it will stop at where the ceiling support is. I'm ok with that as it's more than enough space. Two, the ceiling support is attached to the top part of the rod (the rod is flat, not round) and the curtain rail can move freely at the bottom.

I'm not keen on screen as my bathroom is super small and I don't have a helper at home to clean the screen smile.gif I've seen some screen full of scums as it was not cleaned regularly. Shower curtain is zero maintainance for lazy people like me, since I'll change it once it's dirty smile.gif smile.gif I just need to prevent water from splashing all over my toilet bowl when I shower.

ok you mean those conventional hook type curtains? that one you need curved rails, L shape the hook can't slide past. if you can find the curved rails it's easy to install a support on it to the ceiling if no space you can just use a clamp around it. but your ceiling, is cement or plaster or those rectangular piece type?

These are not an issue with semi open/open top curtain rings/hooks so long as the joint allow their passage and it's not a sharp 90 degree bend.
