so I bought an ixpand mini for a friend who owns an iphone x as a Christmas present.. and it does not work, can detect but cannot copy photos from the phone. after googling I found out from the sandisk forums that this is a common problem. it is related to which version you have, either 'card 2' or 'card 3'. card 3 is the problematic one.
when buying the ixpand mini there's no way to find out if you're getting a card 2 or card 3.
if you RMA it using sandisk website you will definitely get a replacement that will work with iphone x.
however my friend is from the uk and he will be leaving on 12 Jan 2017.. I think it will take some time for sandisk to send me the replacement

anyone here can give me a better solution? like.. will the new 'leaf' version of sandisk ixpand work with the iphone x?
