Or should I say, HIGHER trade-in from telcos. Example: 1.2k for iPhone 6 Plus from one telco versus 800 from an authorised reseller.

Not sure all telcos trade-in, or for same values - check their websites - but the #1 telco did on launch date.

Silver seems more popular this year than previous editions of the phone. I think that’s because Apple used the silver for ads and promos, and that influenced buyers to that colour. That’s not the best way to make an expensive buying decision, but people do get influenced by what a company promotes (not just Apple products) at launch, and relaunches.
