Just cracked the glassy screen protector on the iPhone X, considering I bought it a week ago... I must be one of the most careless users around, lol! laugh.gif

Lol, same gang... It's not a cheapo brand though, but something I bought at Switch... Can't remember the name of the protector already! laugh.gif

Guys,i use wall charger n it takes almost 3 hours to charge the phone full from 10-100.Is this normal?
*
Yup, not surprising... If I use the car charger to charge the phone, and drive from, say, KL to Kuantan, it will only be around 70% or thereabouts, assuming the "charge starting point" is at 10%...

Probably something to do with the larger capacity battery or something else?

Not sure if its due to Intel chip too, my GPS tends to be damn inaccurate, very hassle when using waze at kampung area with many junctions, the phone like detected me off 100m like that! Made me missed many junctions  ranting.gif
*
So far so good for me though, no issues with Waze or Google Maps when I need directional guidance... Something to do with certain slightly defective Intel chips or an issue with the GPS itself? sad.gif

Yeap, lucky you. But some people might get it, as this phone is really fragile, at least when spoil, insurance cover smile.gif
*
I think Switch offers that (bought mine from the very quiet outlet in AEON Bukit Raja), even if I had to pay an extra MYR200-plus for that... Not too bad though, at least I can claim for replacement if the phone is dropped from high up or something... cool2.gif

OH yea, i never think of the backplate will scrach the glass back of my 8+, anyways, i got a back screen protector though tongue.gif

Spigen has very good rubberized protectors, and they are able to withstand hard impact when you drop an iPhone from high up... I have used their products since the iPhone 6, although I did change the one for my previous iPhone 7 to one that has a picture of the Millennium Falcon, but with rubber grips for easier handling! laugh.gif

I'm the sort of joker that tends to manhandle my gadgets until they become like the Falcon (AKA Hunk of Junk) which is why a sturdy and tough protector is a must! tongue.gif

Other that Switch partnering with some renowned insurance company to provide their Switch Protection Plan (can't remember the insurer name, maybe it's Chubb or something), do the other "big guns" like Machines and Mac City offer such benefits to their customers too? tongue.gif

This was also one reason why I bought the iPhone X from them, because of this very handy Protection Plan for a careless person like myself! rclxms.gif

Problem is below 138 plan i would need to pay the up front which could cost extra RM700-RM900. Which i dont think is worth it. But 138 only give 12GB weekday and 12GB weekend. Kinda less internet. using currently 25GB all day. So im abit worried about that also. Or i might just add on internet.
*
Wow, how do you actually use 25GB in one day? I'm already having a hard time finishing 20GB in ONE MONTH (considering I watch YouTube for music, every time that I'm driving, which is quite frequent), let alone for a day... laugh.gif

How many of you guys here use the Messaging app on your iPhone? Seems like unlike Americans, most of us are WhatsApp and WeChat users, which means we miss out on that "interactive emoji" thingy, which I personally find unique but kinda useless for now... tongue.gif

But if it's available on WhatsApp or WeChat, then this will give a whole new dimension to how we can send such messages (even if these emojis cannot be seen on Android, or can they?)! biggrin.gif

Animoji can be sent to android phones as short video clips if I recall. Only used it once or twice since I’m mostly into normal emojis. Old uncle reporting in wink.gif

Regardless, it would be nice if the other chat apps support Animoji but not a must-have to me.

I use multiple messaging apps depending on who I communicate with. Skype, iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, FB Messenger and WeChat.

Personally prefer Telegram and FB Messenger since everything is on the cloud. Too many android users around so iMessage is not my first option.
*
True also, as compared with the US market where the majority of people there are using iPhone - as evidenced by the many "fail text" articles I see all over Facebook and Twitter... Never seen any of these on an Android interface before! laugh.gif

Which means that one message I sent together with an Animoji to someone I know probably didn't get received then... Because the receiver is using an older-school Android phone that may not be able to view the Animoji! sad.gif

Hahaha, I'm married already, cannot afford a gf anymore (unless you consider the Millennium Falcon as my mistress laugh.gif )... Actually it was to send some funny alien Animoji with my weird facial expression to my brother, but I forgot he was using an Android phone since his iPhone was sent for repair... tongue.gif

Hua wei mate 10 or I-phone 8... Someone please tell me which to choose...
Im gonna cry coz even myself cant give an answer which phone to choose.
*
Definitely iPhone 8 - specs-wise sure lose to Huawei but the user-friendly interface of iOS beats that of Android anytime! rclxms.gif

As for the iPhone X, I have no issues with the thing so far... FaceID is still able to activate like usual, whether in a dark room or if I'm not wearing my glasses - helps that I clean the screen with a damp cloth a few times a day... Got used to the no-Home-screen function too, within an hour or so after using the phone for the first time! laugh.gif

Am I an exception to the norm, fellow iPhone X users here? cool2.gif

malaysian set sucks.. 4g LTE so weak. u cant detect 4g at rural but with 2016 mifi like EE60 works like a charm..
*
I thought this is dependent on the cellular network we use? Believe it or not, DiGi has really lousy LTE in certain parts of PJ (unstable connection in Kelana Jaya too, luckily I'm using Time Internet in my condo here! bangwall.gif ), but I can get a full bar in more outback places like Kemaman or Kuantan... blink.gif confused.gif

And I even have a colleague using a new Huawei or other China-made phone (can't remember which one) whose cellular provider is Celcom.. There was this one time when we had a discussion with a prospect in BB Road and he actually had ZERO bars... Whereas DiGi on my phone is filled to the max! laugh.gif

Since those of us here are iPhone X users, have you noticed that while most apps have been updated to fit the "maximized-dimension" screen, the Malaysian ones have yet to catch up? Whether it's Maybank2u, Lelong, GSCinemas, or even my employer's own SOS Fastlane emergency response app, none of them have made use of the big screen yet (as well as a few surprising overseas ones, notably Yahoo Weather, Photobucket, and the popular Real Racing 3 game)! laugh.gif

I'm guessing that this is because of the low usage of the iPhone X here in Malaysia, which resulted in local app developers thinking that it's not worth the hassle to have this upgrade, only to get delayed at Apple's side for approval... That's what my company app developer said, when they submitted the latest version of our emergency app for iPhone X compatibility! hmm.gif

Still expensive, even if the 256GB model has received a very hefty discount - which is why I was only able to purchase mine with a 12-month installment plan... Paying the MYR5,8++ outright is way out of reach! blink.gif

But for 256GB, I need not worry about space constraints anymore, even if I'm still very particular about having too many songs or photos contained in the phone... Old habits die hard! laugh.gif

I used to compare specs vs price and iphones were always overpriced sh1t to me. Android superphones trash iphone specs, on paper.

But have come to realise that the iphone is more than the sum of its parts. The user experience needs to be ahem, experienced, for a true understanding of what it brings to the table.

Hope the ipx doesn't fail on me, though. It's almost double (telco unit) of what I usually pay for a smartphone.
*
I always inform people that Android phones totally OWN iPhone in terms of specs, features, etc... But the one thing that Apple wins is the user-friendliness of iOS, something that Android is still unable to duplicate... brows.gif

How I came to such a conclusion is this - I work for a company specializing in emergency response services and we came out with our free mobile app in 2017... So when we meet with business partners and prospects, we will get them to download our app and I do help them with installation and all, with majority of people using Android phones. And one thing about Android OS is this - it has one of the most clunky and troublesome ways to download and install an app, unlike the smooth and sleek Apple firmware (and what's with the over-usage of symbols to denote functions, at least iOS states this in clear words)! laugh.gif

alrite then... thank you for your thoughts... and yes, i'm a 7+ user... by the way, i'm prefer the iPhone X Space Grey one... its ok, i think the back camera already distinguish it from the other iPhone...  thumbup.gif

I was like you, an iPhone 7 user too... But because I accidentally smashed my previous phone and it couldn't be turned on anymore, I had to get a replacement and what better new model than the X? cool2.gif

The camera is darn amazing and photo clarity beats any iPhone I've used previously, like this gem I took earlier today! rclxms.gif

Congratulations on joining the iPhone X club and you'll certainly enjoy using this cool phone with no more home button... I certainly am, for the past month - even if I've gotta pay over MYR500 a month for a year with this purchase (most expensive gadget I've ever purchased)! laugh.gif

Hi,
Anybody here brave enough to NOT use any screen protector/casing on their phone?
*
Don't dare to - few days of getting this iPhone X and I already dropped it to the floor... Luckily the glassy screen protector was able to absorb the impact well, even if it has chipped off at the FaceID camera area! laugh.gif

But yeah, I also have insurance for the phone, bought as a package item from Switch... Because when I accidentally destroyed my iPhone 7, I was also headed to Taman Intan in Klang for BKT and decided to check out the iPhone at their AEON Bukit Raja outlet, just across the freeway... thumbup.gif

If it's a hardware issue, better send the phone to Apple's Service Provider for a check-up... Or you can do a soft reset first and try making a phone call again, to see if the problem still persists? console.gif
