Hi, am trying to purchase the iPhone X this weekend.
May I know where do u all get the screen protector? Is the apogee one good? Or any cheapo brand like ~RM20 is good too?
Am eyeing the UAG Plyo, anyone here using it?
*
I have the Pylo but not using it yet lol
You can get SP from anywhere. Depends you want a TG type of the silicone plastic type.

I would still prefer touch ID to be implemented together with face ID. Using face ID alone is really not convenient..

This SP looks really nice with almost edge to edge. Only thing is the installation looks like a freaking pain, and cases that will fit with this SP should be quite limited...

Just got this. Bargain! Wireless charge/QC 3.0/lightning connector

Same size as iPhone X

I can keep my xiaomi pro power bank now haha
*
Their Micro usb to lightning connector sucks though. Doesn’t charge my phone after just a few weeks. Now I need to find a 3rd party connector or I’d have to bring a separate lightning cable which makes one of the key features of the power bank useless.
And a separate Micro usb to lightning connector already cost 1/3rd of the powerbanks price...

He must be a tech noob if he still gets frustrated over the swiping up to home feature after a month.
Anyway he is right that there is nothing ground breaking in the X, heck even Samsung phones or any phones that matter has nothing ground breaking. There is a limit to what one can innovate with a smartphone. Biggest was the iPhone 3G/4.
Perhaps if Samsung X makes a seemless foldable smartphone which opens up to a tablet type (not the ZTE Axon M), that might lead to something new.

Well the main point i go for pn888 is the wireless charging capability. Compared to yoobao rm119 only 5k mah :/

U can use original apple micro usb to lightning to the existing micro usb cable
*
Apple adapter alone cost more than the power bank itself. Anyway I’ve tried it a few times but I’ll never use the pn888 wireless charging. So bloody slow that it feels more like a gimmick instead.

Durability is par the course for leather case. Got some small scratches there and there but not obvious. The case still looks good for now. Dunno how it will age

How is your case's fitting? Is it very tight and hard to remove? I used one for my 6 but it was very easy to put on and remove
*
I always wanted to get the saddle brown leather, but the lack of protection at the bottom puts me off though.

That's the one reason why I don't go for Apple's leather case too smile.gif

Unfortunately most if not all the other leather case manufacturers also leave the bottom unprotected.
The only leather ones that are fully protected isn’t fully leather but has a polycarbonate sides, e.g Nomad.

At IKEA Australia, they have some nice looking wireless charging lamps. Wondering when Malaysia will bring them in instead of their current not so nice looking ones.

Would have bought the lamp but needing to use a universal adaptor for the Aus plug is quite troublesome.

I would have cut the wire and replace with a 3 pin plug smile.gif
10mins job at most.

Lol I don’t think I would dare to do that. If it somehow short circuit later on while my phone was wirelessly charging...

Think I read somewhere that these ikea lamp/wireless chargers are low powered ones. Apparently it'll charge your x very slowly and it'll just keep your battery warmer for a longer period of time. In other words, it may look nice and convenient but it may not be that good for your phone battery in the long run, especially in hot climates like ours.

But having said that, since battery replacement only costs RM129 nowadays....

For overnight purpose or chilling la this type. If you want fast, wireless definitely not the way to go lol

Interesting CES video which pits 12 cases on drop tests on their iPhone X.
They reached out to most case manufacturers, but only these responded to the challenge. Interestingly Mous seems to be missing considering how they hyped up their marketing and videos tongue.gif

Yeah... was thinking the same thing. Because iphone back is already glass + Tempered + backplate.. will look so huge. But does the backplate gives any protection? Or should i just stick with the tempered glass?
*
If you already have a backplate, i'd advice not to stick a TG at the back. There is a small gap between the backplate and the back of your phone, this does help in dissipating the shock if you drop your phone flat on the back. With a TG in between, you are basically transferring the shock from the backplate straight to the TG and your phone. Instead of backplate to your bumper sides.

Haha the plastic/silicone type? If it is not touching the backplate then should be safer... but no guarantees tongue.gif

any of you did tryout the IP67 rating on the IPX? it's my first water resistant phone and i'm still hesitant on trying it

the phone's getting dusty with apple's silicone case, felt like washing it under the faucet

Yes a few of us did that.
