Yep. I use assistive touch.Double tap to lock and turn off the screen.
Long press and 3D Touch to open assistive menu.
Single tap to pull down control center.
Very convenient and pervasive (always there).

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jan 27 2018, 01:52 PM) It not only looks cool, but its a great feature to have to check on time and other notifications without the need to touch or wake the phone. Yeah my wife’s s8+ has this AOD thing. It’s cool but not critical for me since my phone is usually in my pants pocket. An Apple Watch would be handy for me, to quickly show time and notifications. The price though.. |

Just checked out a few youtube reviews. I think more bang for the buck if I just get an apple watch series 3 instead. More integrated with the iphone.
Gotta save money then ha ha. Currently I have my garmin vivoactive hr paired to my ipx. Not a smart watch per se but a superb sports/activity tracker. |

QUOTE(realitec @ Jan 27 2018, 07:07 PM) True, but I like to look at value and what something brings to the table, not just specs and price.Otherwise I would've bought an android flagship, cheaper, larger screen and bigger battery with fast charging kit all bundled together. Not the iphone x. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Jan 27 2018, 07:29 PM |

QUOTE(666devil @ Jan 28 2018, 08:24 AM) That is inaccurate. The charger is not generating heat to charge the phone's battery. How Does Wireless Charging Work? QUOTE Wireless chargers typically use magnetic induction. The short explanation is that they use magnetism to transmit energy. First, you place the device–like a smartphone—on the wireless charger. The current coming from the wall power outlet moves through the wire in the wireless charger, creating a magnetic field. The magnetic field creates a current in the coil inside the device sitting on the wireless charger. This magnetic energy is converted to electrical energy, which is used to charge the battery. Devices must have the appropriate hardware in them to support wireless charging—a device without the necessary coil can’t charge wirelessly. While the Qi standard was originally limited to magnetic induction, it now also supports magnetic resonance. This works similarly, but the device can be up to 45mm away from the wireless charger’s surface rather than touching it directly. This is less efficient than magnetic induction, but there are some advantages—for example, a wireless charger could be mounted under a table’s surface and you could place a device on the table to charge it. It also allows you to place multiple devices on a single charging pad, and have all of them charge at once. |

QUOTE(666devil @ Jan 28 2018, 04:51 PM) Ok I get it. To each his own. You mentioned previously wireless charging uses heat to charge the phone. That is wrong. Anyway I am happy to have wireless charging on an iPhone, finally. I can use my existing Samsung wireless charger. Convenient. |

QUOTE(666devil @ Jan 28 2018, 05:49 PM) Thanks for the correction though! Appreciate it 👍🏻 It’s not really all that much heat. Less than heat generated when fast wired charging, I think. It doesn’t use heat to charge, but the heat generated from the inefficiency of the power transfer comes to the same result - more heat. I don’t really baby my phone anyway, it’s just a tool and not a family member. Can always have the battery replaced in future. Do as you will |

QUOTE(Perfect.Stranger @ Jan 29 2018, 07:59 AM) I know both X and 8+ specs I haven’t received my work ip8 yet but I’ve asked my colleague who has both ip8 and ipx (personal phone). But I read mixed reviews on end users for both Some say 8, some say X, whats the obvious advantage on X that users found best compared to 8? X has better low light camera, better battery life, larger display, sharper screen, useful gestures, louder speakers (slightly), smaller bezels, dual lens behind (2x photo), higher price (ha ha). |

Gawd I love the iOS experience, the Bluetooth audio at least.
My Plantronics, Aukey headsets and even my other 2 China-brand headsets plus my Jumbl audio receiver connect happily and seamlessly with both my ip8 and ipx concurrently. Bluetooth audio was such a pain on my previous android phones (Samsung mostly). Searching for a PowerBeats3 sports earphones now. Wanna try that W1 chip already |

QUOTE(pop_enygma @ Feb 1 2018, 12:30 AM) guys, is it true that the aluminium bezel of the iPhone X is easily scratched? even when we inserting the case, the touch between these two things can cause scratches especially for the tight ones... Ipx has stainless steel side bezels if I recall correctly. No scratches on mine so far. I pull the phone out from the case once a week or so to wipe it with a wet cloth. |
