Apple said it had already released "mitigations" against Meltdown in its latest iPhones and iPad operating system update - iOS 11.2 and the macOS 10.13.2 for its MacBooks and iMacs.

Meltdown does not affect the Apple Watch, it said, as the bug was an issue with Intel processors which are not contained in that device.

Actually stock Android now holds battery charge pretty well though. It's just all those manufacturers' UI and bloatware that causes the issues.

Samsung already allow u to delete bloatware, yet don’t see much improvement on battery.

Looks like I made the right move upgrading from note5 to ipx instead of note8 thumbup.gif

Smaller form factor, more pocketable, longer standby time, snappy little fcuker, ticks most if not all my requirements.

Painful for the wallet, though.

U r doomed my friend. Once in the Apple ecosystem, cannot leave. Make sure u transfer all ur contacts, notes etc in iCloud. Photos and videos stick back to google photo. Remember to perform iCloud backups.
Next time when u buy a new iPad or upgrade to x+, u will see the magic of the ecosystem.

No worries there, buddy. I've been on an ip6 for 2 years now (work phone) so I'm well prepared.

I don't need the full Apple 'seamless user' experience so am still keeping my stuff in my Google account. iCloud's only for phone and appdata backups.

No issues going back to Android if I have to, maybe one day when an iphone costs 10K ha ha.

They have too many 'processes' running in the background which contributes to battery drain.

Ya, exactly. They just give you the illusion that there's less bloatware but the truth is a lot of hidden stuffs going on in the background. When I turned off data and WiFi on my S8 and S8+ previously, it still drains 5-6% overnight. Can't explain it. Ha ha.

Well, they better get their 'shit' right. Other brands are coming up fast.

It will one, if consumers continue to buy their products at whatever prices they put up. I can bet you innovation will not follow the price increase equilibrium.

Yea and look at how badly vertu failed. There's bound to be a limit for most buyers, regardless of how passionate they may be.

Yes, a full charge could last you a day even with heavy usage.

So I got an iPhone X recently and looking to rectify the measly 5W adapter situation. I do not want to get into fast charging because I dont really want to spend that much money on a cable and an adapter. But I'd still like to get the maximum juice without fast charging. People recommend the 12W iPad charger which delivers power through 5V/2.4A if I'm not mistaken. I'd have gotten that except I want a charger with more than 1 USB port. So I got to doing some research and found this.
https://www.unipro.my/Aukey/aukey-pa-u36-4-...-charging-black
Its a 40W 8A charger. With that power I think it will deliver the full 5V/2.4A even if two phones were connected at the same time.
But then I came across this.
http://www.siyoteam.com/index.php?m=Home&c...&catid=14&id=76
This massive guy is a 50W 10A 8 port charger. The thing that caught my attention was that it will deliver 6.5-9V/2A & 9-12V/1.5A. So I wanted to know what is the limit of the power that a regular apple USB to lightning cable will handle? And will the iPhone X charge at 9V/2A or 12V/1.5A?

Vertu is a joke lol...not only the price tag, the device itself is a failure....
