This is a good concept. You can find this a lot in Sekinchan. Not too sure about the investment tho..But it will be nice to find this somewhere around the outskirt of klang valley.

Good idea, no need get achiteck to draw up the house plan, n then need to get approval from the authorities.

QUOTE(JonathanIB @ Dec 17 2017, 03:02 PM) Mmost construction site office if using containers.but those are mostly converted. SOme are also insulated (rockwool etc). Some will have air vents, and all will have aircons. Oh and a makeshift zinc roof is a good idea |

QUOTE(JonathanIB @ Dec 17 2017, 03:02 PM) At construction site usually it is used for site office to keep drawings, meeting and for site staff to use. All got AC, they are mean as temporary use (1-2 years). Typically it is modified to have windows, and insulated to keep AC costs down and reduce noise (imagine rain hitting on iron non-stop).QUOTE(topearn @ Dec 18 2017, 03:00 PM) Good idea, no need get achiteck to draw up the house plan, n then need to get approval from the authorities. Wrong. You need architect to draw the container plans and submit to authority for building plan approval, and like any other buildings, containers for human occupation must meet all laws and by-laws as well as fire-fighting equipments and requirements. This means all finishes, window opening, ventilation, sanitary provisions are akin to a normal house. With this, the cost of 'renovating' the container for habitat purposes may well be more expensive than normal concrete + brick house.Plus, if it is meant to use as a hotel, more requirements for building plan approval. Then for hotel operation you will need the relevant license, register with tourism board etc, as well as any F&B license etc if you are providing. QUOTE(JonathanIB @ Dec 18 2017, 04:52 PM) I'm not sure if there are any guideline, I never work on one before, like I said, if it is classified as a building, then it should be treated as a building for authority approval wise.QUOTE(xajimx @ Dec 18 2017, 04:55 PM) Many of the containers acting as hotel are typically being inserted into an existing building or shed, so in these cases they are treated as interior design so there could be (not sure) less stringent requirements. |
