Just poured 4L of mitsubishi SPIII ATF to my car as suggested by mechanic. But when i search online some say proton need 5L of ATF? So any sifus can teach me how to check the fluid level using the dipstick? Is it must be on the "HOT" level when the engine was warmed up?

Go drive around let transmission warm up then park your car. Move lever to 1 stay for 2 sec then next gear stay 2 sec then next gear finally to park. Check dipstick while in park position and engine idelling. Oil should in between low and high (hot position)

Getting Started

Properly way of checking is engine is warm and running as mentioned by eddievh. Don't do it with engine shut off. The ATF capacity needed should be around 4.3 to 4.5 litre.
Method of checking ATF is different from engine oil.

Today checked my atf level, found that the fluid went over the "HOT" a little bit on the dipstick. Is it overfilled?
