oh how i love your reply! exactly what i came here forĀ
as for the bold part, yeah i tend to agree...sure the hardware and software is future proof given how good iPhone track record is, but not the outdated design...worried that might be the buyers' remorse after 1 year of using it. hard to swallow but edge-to-edge display with notch is the way to move forward now. makes sense when few people here recommend to opt for IPXR instead. its like buying ip8+, but with more wide/tall screen estate and face ID + A12 bionic
at one point i do consider s9, but i still cannot put my trust to samsung bloatware even how much they claim to improve. i'd rather relearn iOS gesture than to touch skinned android.
ah well, some things got be sacrificed. outdated screen but compact size, or modern edge-to-edge display but a bigger form factor.....
thanks for the well-thought output!
The iPhone XR is quite a bit bigger though, forget about using it one handedly, the edge to edge display doesn't help.
I think the iPhone x is more comparable in size to an iPhone 8, and it has seen now gone down in price.
As per other alternative, I still think the Apple still has the edge not only in raw power, and long term software support, but the general apps experience is better across the board, this might be trivial but it makes a difference when you use those apps everyday, developers just tend to give more attention to iOS apps and design and optimize it better. I've used OnePlus 3T and 6splus, while the 3T has performed quickly, apps like ig and fb still isn't as buttery smooth as on the iPhone.
