Is Maxis really help to block? Few months ago, my sister lost her Samsung J7, I asked her call Maxis and request to bar the IMEI, Maxis refused to do so, even the imei already captured before my sister provide it to Maxis.

QUOTE(Lancewood @ Dec 14 2017, 10:53 AM) i have just received replies from a couple of senior staff in Celcom and Maxis. https://www.celcom.com.my/personal/services/easyphone/tnc The telco will block the imei IF the device is reported STOLEN from the original owner, it has nothing to do with unpaid bills. CODE During the leasing period, should customer lose the leased phone or should it get stolen, they must follow the process for insurance claim for replacement via AmTrust Mobile Solutions. Replacement Customer needs to submit a police report on the loss of leased phone to Celcom and submit this together with their claim to Insurance partner. Once, the submission for replacement is approved, customer to pay for the Excess Fee. For replacement of phone where needed, it will be replaced with new like-for-like model by Insurance Partner within 7 days. The Insurance Partner will update new IMEI of the replacement phone in Celcom’s system. The old IMEI will be blocked through another system and will be reported as lost device to SKMM. Maximum number of claims is up to 2 times per policy before the policy is terminated. From their T&C, so can i assume the seller can actually sell his phone away and report the phone as lost? and then celcom will actually block the IMEI of the phone so it become unusable. Seller sell the phone. Report lost. Get a new one. Possible? This post has been edited by selinix: Dec 14 2017, 03:42 PM |

The best is to avoid telco set, u dunno what can happen after months later. Doesn't worth to risk the 4k.
