Dear All,

As what we have heard recently, there's a few cases of fake milk powder for Enfalac found in the market.

Not sure either enfagrow is also affected, but as what I can see the FB page of enfagrow have been swarming question from parents that have concern but there's seem to be very less reply from enfagrow end.
How to identify either the milk powder that we have bought is fake or original? No update have been provided by enfagrow end.

As a concern parents, i'm also worried as 2 of my kid have been on enfagrow for quite some time. Normally will bought at sensei shop selling 6kg for RM350 but they will peel off the top packaging.

Now i'm planning to change milk powder but not sure which should I tried.

Was thinking to change to 1 of below :

1. S26
2. Friso
3. Dugro
4. Dutch Lady

Any recommendation?

the Enfagrow FB is the Enfalac FB. Basically its under the same page.

anyway, how i choose the formula for my baby?

based on the content.
More DHA and ARA is better i guess.
its good for mental development, and for babies, and children, that would be very crucial for their brains.
DHA and ARA is present in breastfed babies, and breastfed babies were found to have higher IQs.
So formula with more DHA and ARA should be better as well.
Obviously the one with higher DHA and ARA is more expensive.
For me? I chosen Enfalac A+ Step 1 for my baby. (yup, the one with the fake milk issue)

Then, after you chosen a brand based on the above, then is the compatibility.
is ur baby ok with it? bloated? colic? allergic? taste?
if OK? continue la. if not, maybe try the second on the list above.

3rd, it the financial. What can you afford? very important.

For someone like me, using the brand that has been tarnished with the recent fake milk issue, of course im very worried.
i got the formula i have, returned to the supplier (Mead Johnson) and they replaced with a new one.
They mentioned to buy direct from 11 street under Mead Johnson, thats their original online shop.

how old is your kid?

once my child started eating solid food, i slowly transition them to cheaper milk, ie. dutch lady and dugro.

i believe they get most of their nutrient from solid food and the milk is just a back up to satisfy their craving.

but my mum did mentioned to me that whenever she feed dutch lady, the kids seems to experience constipation.

We use s26 ultima imported one since NB, now my LO is 13months, by 18months we’ll switch to Bellamy’s. I think you can try s26 or friso, I won’t consider dugro and Dutchlady for toodler unless they’re above 5YO.

Been using Bellamy's since NB.

It served its purpose as we do 50:50 formula and breast milk since day 1.

We were a bit apprehensive of using the popular local choices so we went for a less popular but reputable branded one.

Only problem is finding them as it isn't stocked everywhere and not too keen on buying it online.

One of the less affluent KL Suburbs smile.gif

Anyway when I said it wasn't easily available I meant it isn't available at all the usual hypermarts or baby shops, need to go out of the way a bit to one of the more premium shops to get it.

Thankfully these days it is easier to get one that wasn't manufactured years ago like it was last year where every single tin was manufactured more than a year ago.

you can have your doubts.
im not saying u take it suddenly become super genius.
a healthy and clever baby is a combination of a few things.
one of it is the diet.

if u just give water vs milk, which one will grow healthier and more clever?
of course the one with milk.

So what should the milk be? As similar to breast milk as possible. Because sometimes dont have breast milk, not convenient etc, need to make formula milk.

Studies on human breast milk was done to create the formula milk.

A few of the ingredients found is DHA and ARA, amongst others.

Studies on DHA and ARA have been done, and it shows that DHA is important for optimal visual and cognitive development.
they make comparisons, experiments.
there are paper and studies on this.

up to you if u want to believe or not.

anyway, here is a link (journal) about it from National Library of Medicine of NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) of the United States:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3738999/
