My uncle used to work for Exxon Mobil and what he told us all is that ALL Brands use the same OIL anyways. Just the addictive is different that they use. So eventually you're actually pumping the same type of petrol and etc. Although I prefer a certain brand previously after hearing him tell us that, I ended up not caring about brands anymore.

For example... the Petron 100, Shell V-Power, Caltex Techron and etc...

Those are the different type of additives and also different Octane level. In layman's term... it's like Soup Ayam. Basically it's Water + Chicken. But some stalls add Salt, some add Sugar, some add Pepper... essentially it's still Water + Chicken. Just different way of producing it and packaging it that makes people want to use it. But if you say RON 95, well... it's almost the same everywhere.

Please go try Shell V-Power... then you tell me the difference.

Sometimes you know la... mechanic also want to earn ma. If you buy from them they ma earn more lo. If not, only oil filter then need to help you change and dispose of the oil some more. Waste time and all.

Last time I change oil (using my own) but filter is theirs. He finally only charge me RM15. You think got labour charge?
