Don't put security tint on your front or rear windscreen, side windows are alright. You don't wanna be stuck in an accident in a burning cabin with security tint on your windscreens when your doors or windows can't be opened.

I went and fix a non-brand one.
They accessory shop owner show me the film and test against actual sun. can not feel the heat.
He also promised that the windows wont feel too hot to touch.
Fixed it and still ok after 5 years!!! thumbup.gif
Get one that can cut off heat and wont make your windows hot.
And FYI black film retain heat making your windows very hot!

I just re-tint my car in Friday. Summer Cool in Taman Maluri. Took promo from Fave, RM198, old tint removal RM50. 5 years warranty with official receipt.

IRR 78% sides and back. Black golden tint, a little mirror reflective.
Original IRR 70% for windscreen, top up RM100 for 80% tint plus including 7 inch shade strip, lighter blue tint colour. Good for looking at the road under hot sun, looks cooler outside.

As of now, big difference in terms of heat inside the car. I think I am satisfied. Not sure how long would it last.

does the glass on the window feels too hot to put your palm on it? On the inside surface?

Don't feel the radiation heat behind the glass, the window glass feels warm to touch but not hot.
Maybe 42 deg celcius, feels like touching fever temperature; not hot soup or milo. But isn't this expected from conduction of heat on the outside surface of the glass?

Aircond seems to work better now after tinted.

Not worried getting fined by polus?

Not exactly sure about that, but it is JPJ compliant.
It is not dark tint, the light transmission percentage is within specs.
If I am issued a fine, I could bring it back to shop and they will settle it.
It is stated on the receipt itself, warranty includes tint removal from JPJ.

I've used alot of tinted brand, the best is still vkool. Much more cooler than the rest and lasted more than 5 years without any deterioration. The only problem, or very big problem is its not smart tag friendly.
