Hi guys. Would like a confirmation. When I applied for the cimb cash rebate mc card a fews years back they also gave me the standard platinum mc cc. Both these cards have a combined limit.

Checked through the website and this thread, don't see any use for it, can i safely assume that i can cancel the normal platinum card without affecting the cash rebate cc, ie. it's more like PBB Quantum Cards situation (can cancel either visa/mc) and not like the former MBB M2Cards that were bundled together (before the recent change)?

Both cards shouldn't be tied together.
As far as I know, CIMB doesn't have such product like MBB and PBB.
You should be able to cancel the non beneficial card easily.

Ok thanks David thumbsup.gif

Thanks very much for this Clarence. May I know how did this work for you? I've entered my CTOS login credentials in the link you've provided and nothing happened?

I note the relevant terms in the tnc where they state 'This Campaign is open to all new and existing customers of CIMB as well as all new and existing customers of CTOS who are Malaysians ("Eligible Participant")' and 'Eligible Participants are entitled to a single complimentary check of their credit score to receive one MyCTOS Score Report (one time only) via email'. So I should be waiting for an email?

I have a CTOS account, so I log into my CTOS account (NOT CIMBClicks ID+PW) and collect the report, I received a copy of CTOS report by email as well.

If you do not have a CTOS account, please sign up with some supporting documents.

Thanks for the replies. Yea, seems to be an error on my own PC, tried different browsers but had problems sweat.gif . However, managed to get it through my phone. Thanks again and for the link as well Clarence!

1% Lazada rebate and 0.5% rebate on other spends are permanent.
15% Lazada promo cashback already extended a few time and now valid till 12/2018, maybe extended again!
Annual fee only RM9.43, top up RM3000 to Boost enough to cover the AF.

Yes! Very good indeed.

However, i did not manage to utilise this wonderful card during the 11.11 lazada sale cry.gif . It's times like this where the card is most useful right? I applied for the prepaid card during the middle of October. Didn't even receive it until now. Actually it was 'partly my fault' (I'm sure some will immediately jump to this as a defence whistling.gif ) as I didn't follow up with CIMB after several weeks and only thought about this card when i saw the lazada 11.11 promo with the cimb prepaid card a day before the promo doh.gif . Still in my defence i was overseas for a period of time between then and when i called up the CS about my card i was informed that it was 'returned' to the bank, no reason given why. I was never notified as well about the 'failure' of the delivery or any other notification at all.

So, coupled with the serious allegations a few pages back (if true), deal with them with diligence.

Can't expect much from them when they even have 'a hard time' just trying to update my mailing address for the lazada prepaid card. Tried updating 2x on cimb clicks (no effect), then purposely went to branch just to get it updated. Even then the staff told me check back in 1 week's time, if not updated yet i have to visit them again. The worst thing is even the staff acknowledged that even though the 'new' address that i wish to use is already on the system (as it's assigned to another account and she even showed me on the pc monitor), still can't guarantee the switch would be 'successful' and i have to follow up with them.. thumbup.gif

And when i failed to receive the prepaid card, i didn't even get any notification, only when i followed up with the CS via telephone then i found out the delivery failed..

Just raising the awareness, got this from a thread in /k. FAQ BR. CIMB has raised their BR by 0.1%. Actually I wasn't surprised cause I was informed by a staff from CIMB last week as well about the proposed raise when i went to do the mailing address update (which remains a mystery)..

But the 'problem' is the manner in which it was revised (or at least they'll say they're working on notifying their customers rolleyes.gif). A pdf/link on your website is not proper notification doh.gif . Checked my cimbclicks and I also observed the 'quiet adjustment'. Plus the other reported negatives contained in this thread, just goes to show you how the bank operates.

When BNM allows BR implementation which is not tied to OPR, it offers greater flexibility to the banks.
Banks can increase or decrease BR according to the liquidity needs.
On top of that, how the banks make the communication is not subject to BNM regulation. They can put that in the Internet banking portal or etc.

Besides, CIMB is running a 4.45% to 4.5% p.a FD campaign.
Where to put this? Obviously from BR increase.

I'm not saying they can't revise their BR/BLR/BFR. It's entirely in their discretion to do so. I'm just highlighting the manner in which it was done. Imagine logging into your maybank2u/pbe one day and see an increase in your loan interest rates but you didn't know about it prior. I'm sure I am not alone who would have some qualms about this..

I'm not protecting them neither.
Previously, they did communicate on ATM screen about BR increase.
I'm not sure for this round, why they don't intend or even to communicate it at the Clicks homepage.
Or push notification to Clicks and/or EVA app.

Yes, a simple notification would do BEFORE revising the rates. Unfortunately in this case, it was overlooked sweat.gif ..

Called CIMB card centre yesterday, they say the sms does not mean my application was approved. Their side say still processing. He say i only passed the first stage of the application. So misleading.

biggrin.gif Welcome. Someone should suggest they 'follow' (very controversial word for competitors) the other bank's way of doing it, i.e. "approved in principle" so that there's not misunderstanding tongue.gif

Guys, is CIMB CC safe from online hacked issue lately?
*
Well somebody will probably say they're 'unrelated' on the surface, CC and online banking (if they really wish to clutch at straws), but just read through some of the more recent posts a couple months back and decide for yourself whether you feel 'safe' using their product..

Anyway, this is their official response on the alleged online breach:

Make of it what you will.. Cause the allegations are serious; potential defamation claim if untrue tongue.gif

Another 'silent sneaky' move? After the interest rate raise and cimbclicks debacle? Lol, kind of a pattern in terms of operation..

I just used the prepaid card days ago and the then existing 15% rebate was still there. Hopefully they do honour it..

Can CIMB really do that without informing the customers in advance? I do not see any notification on the changes at all. When I last checked last year, the 15% Bonus Cash Rebate promotion was extended to Feb this year. So, I spent on Lazada this month thinking it was still applicable. Then only I found out that it was removed from the website. I was also surprised when I found out that they round down the rebates since last month. Even if they don't send SMS or email to inform the customers, at the very least they should put a big notification on the website about the changes and not just silently remove it or make changes behind the scenes.  vmad.gif

sweat.gif You should follow up on recent news about CIMB.. From interest rate increase (the way it was done), alleged hacks/security compromise concerning cimbclicks (even seven7 had some input on it), Federal Court decision regarding exclusion clauses etc.. Very interesting whistling.gif

Thanks for this. Seems like the 17.2 is a new addition? A 50k annual restriction now for purchase/withdrawal. Guess people have abused it ? sweat.gif
