With WeChat Pay (in Ringgit Malaysia) launching in June 2018, once I linked CIMB Cash Rebate Credit Card with it, I hope can still get cash rebate as usual.. tongue.gif

I'm in the plan of cancelling the CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard.
Since there're auto-debit being tied to it.
*
auto-debit means the RM 25 will be automatically deducted by bank annually is it?

(I always confused between debit and credit. i only recognise 'money in' and 'money out', LOL!)

Not on 1/9 but on a particular date every year, yet to be officially confirmed - card anniversary date.
*

i think should be ok cos if you don't use this card much and they charge the SST, can call in to waive and if they don't then you can still say sayonara to the card
or perhaps the bank will waive the rm25 fee for us even better

guys, SST will be imposed starting Sep 1. Check your card activation date if you wish to cancel your card before it is charged.

darn. i am still undecided whether to cancel or not. If RM25 annually, maybe my annual rebate can be more than that. but just don't like the idea of being taxed. maybe can asked for exemption later?

there is no such thing as exemption. all charge/credit cards will be taxed RM25 SST.

whether bank willing to absorb, you gotta try asking from CS.

i am in dilemma whether i should keep CIMB cash rebate CC or not.

What I want is simple. I just want to get petrol rebate, grocery rebate, no card annual fee, and be able to pay my CIMB CC directly from my CIMB online banking account. I seldom shop online.

Any opinion, guys?

What is your utilization of this card?
If it's heavy, then you should keep it.
*
i would say just average. i am thinking if my cash rebate is more than rm25 annually then i will just keep it tongue.gif

Statement balance will not be reduced, just check out your outstanding amount.
It's all this while like this.

statement balance= all outstanding up to statement date, so u pay according to this amount by due date.

outstanding balance = all outstanding to date. this amount changes according to spending (+) or payment (-).

it want to maximize the Cc, you spend just after statement date, so that it get statement-ed by next statement date, then you pay + 20days later (due date, assuming u pay full previous month). at most, max is about 50 days.
*
thanks for helping to explain. but i am slow in digesting, so can i assume outstanding balance is more important than statement balance, if i am the type that pay directly once i spend?

my Statement Balance is MYR (473.99 )
and my Outstanding Balance is MYR (105.36 )

if u constantly clear it, yes

make it a practice to review the statement once it's out.

do take note though, cashback is not considered as payment for your previous month statement especially for cimb.

CIMB-Petronas Mastercard will give you 3% everyday for <RM3k, or 7% for >RM3k.
Combined with Boost e-wallet (0.2% rebate and RM2 for cash-out, so no gain no loss) to achieve STATEMENT BALANCE >RM3k.

sounds like CIMB Petronas Mastercard is better than Cash Rebate Platinum now?
but from its official website I see the benefits is only until 31 Dec 2018.
