Yes. Mine is Dec 2024, so I need to cut before that. sad.gif

I think it depends.
I cut my card a couple of years ago and CIMB cancelled it without offering to waive the annual fee.

As I know, CIMB will slowly phase out the CIMBClicks app and replace it with OCTO.

I refer to the CIMB Travel MasterCard. Anyone know if the term 'Retail Spend' is included in the following spending?

1. Ewallet top up
2. Insurance payment
3. Utility Bills
4. Government (Assessment fees etc)

Thank you!

What's your question behind? Whether those are calculated as genuine spend for AF waiver? I don't see why not
*
CIMB T&C mentioned min RM3,000 "Retail Spend" will eligible for airport lounge access and a RM65 Grab voucher (to airport)
Just wonder if Ewallet top-up, Insurance/ Bill payments and Government related taxes also consider as "Retail Spend" ...

Should be no problem, you may read the T&C again for detail.
Retail spend usually exclude the following:
Quasi cash (betting), installment, annual fee/SST, cash advance, refunded/disputed transactions

Talk to 2 different customer service representatives, both gave different answers. :-(
The first one said ALL the below are accepted (eligible for airport lounge access).
The second one said that E-wallet and government-related taxes/charges are excluded.

- E-Wallet
- Government-related taxes/ charges
- Utilities Bills
- Insurance

Follow the steps stated in the email.

TLDR:-
Use it like any promo code you use to use for Grab rides
The only requirement is that you need to bind and use your Travel CC as the mode of payment for that trip. No GrabPay, no FPX or whatever. Just Travel CC.

OK, noted with thanks.
Actually I only received email of PPL qualification but didn't receive any Grab promo code yet. I will write to CIMB CS to check.

Hi all,

For Travel Platinum Mastercard, does anyone know whether

1. Paying for petrol at petrol station.
2. Paying for assessment tax at municipal office, or quit rent at land office.

Count as spending towards the RM 3000 retail spend Condition to qualify for the PPL access and Grab vouchers?

Reason I'm asking is, these are excluded from the bonus reward points, but I'm not sure if they're included in the spend condition for PPL and Grab.

The terms and conditions for the airport lounge access never mentioned any exclusion, but they have mentioned a retail spend of RM3000 to qualify.

Thanx.

My personal experience > it's depend on your luck as different CIMB CS will give you a different answer when you call them.

For Jan to Mac 2025 quota, yes, CIMB accepted assessment taxes payment & quit rent (in my cases, I paid online). I also paid Great Eastern Insurance, myTNB bills & retail purchases to make it RM3,000++. I called their CS & they confirmed I have met their requirements.

FYI, in 2024, I fulfilled the RM3,000++ spend through flight ticket purchase (trip.com), Boost Top up and a few offline retail purchases.
Initially the CS told me the Boost top up (ewallet) is not eligible. But after I called again to talk to another CS, they confirmed I have met their requirements. PS: I have used this quota when I've visited Beijing last year + RM65 Grab voucher code.

In my opinion > CIMB doesn't have standard guideline about what transaction is eligible and what transaction is not ....
Unlike AmBank which is very consistent, ALL retail online & offline are eligible for PPL access (no matter the transaction is eligible for bonus points or not).

I hope this info help.

@joice11
I received my 1st and 2nd Grab vouchers (RM65) after contacting CMB customer service. But my 3rd Grab voucher was sent to my email without me calling them. Please whitelist their fulfillment email: cimbtravelcard@tri-e.com.my (their vendor email).
