Unfortunately cimb system also weird. I do have a cimb account but a joint account. I did chat with cs but it seems like I can't see my card with the joint account clicks. Hence my only choice is to change pin via ATM then only can create a new clicks account so that I can see my card. The strange thing as explained by cs is that my new clicks would be able to see the joint account details but not the other way around.

Are you first name for your joint account? Or you did not apply for the click account but your partner did? If not in theory you can see it.

Hi,

Do you guys know if CIMB cards allow points for eWallet topup (not e card, either infinite or a travel card)? Also only their cash back card got rebate for petrol right?

Basically I read their terms and conditions, did not mention eWallet. But strange that auto billing does not qualify for points.

Hi any CIMB card agents in this thread?

Just want to check for the CIMB Infinite card, will the following have points?

1. Auto-billing for TNB, DIGI, Unifi, Insurance AIA
2. Govt related payments like income tax, quit rent etc.
3. eWallet top up like shoppee pay, grabpay, etc.
4. Petrol

I got the news anything that's under auto billing will not have points. I am a bit shocked by this as I thought most cards encourage you to go auto billing. So just want to confirm with CIMB credit card agents. Thanks.

I already verified, looking for confirmation here (no longer needed). Agents are supposed to know.

Hi there,

Lately I discover CIMB credit card actually charges 1% for "overseas payment" even though the settlement currency is in Ringgit. I booked some hotels using agoda malaysia and cimb actually charges me extra 1% because Agoda uses Agoda SG for settlement even thought settlement is in ringgit. I have no such issue with citibank or hsbc.

Anyone else has experienced this? I am waiting for CIMB reply, I find it absurd they are trying their best to suck money. If the overseas transaction is in foreign currency and they charge the admin fee for conversion, this I can accept. But if the currency is in ringgit, how can they justify charging the 1% admin fee?

Nothing new, it is called Cross Border Transaction Fee. Foreign transaction cost higher than local transaction, even though it is in RM. Luckily some banks don't charge it eg Maybank.

If it is in Ringgit, why would it incur a higher costs to CIMB? Apart from CIMB, SCB, any other bank charges this? Bank Islam or RHB charges this?

Anyway thanks for the information. I will wait for CIMB reply. This 1% thing, that means next time cannot pay for online transactions because you never know the company behind the online transaction uses which gateway to do payment processing.

Visa/MasterCard charge more for international transactions, your card issuer need to pay more.

At this moment, RHB & Maybank don't charge Cross Border Transaction Fee for RM transactions.

Thank you for the reply. I would have thought Visa/Mastercard charge the vendor (seller) more rather than the buyer. Let me add on HSBC Mastercard and Citibank Visa Credit card do not charge this fee as well if payment in ringgit. Not sure about debit card though.
