QUOTE(Morning_Star @ Sep 12 2018, 11:13 PM) I chose Enrich Platinum because every year have 2 PPL without any spend condition. If you are specifically flying with MH then using the Enrich Platinum is a worthwhile consideration because you will get 2x MH lounge access annually. (in a form of a voucher, do be mindful of the expiry) The MH lounge is of course better. Moving upwards from the Enrich Platinum cards, there will be AF charges to the cards (WM & EM) but of course you will get more access to the lounge. It is still cheaper "to pay" for the MH lounge access if you travel frequently via MH and only on economy. A business class ticket premium is probably enough to pay for your card's AF. Note that higher CIMB Enrich cards will attract a income requirement.

Credit card SST tax are not waiverable, irrespective of your financial standing or your status with the bank. Spotted member (in recent discussions) who open topic and post in various threads just to ask for SST waiver.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 16 2023, 11:15 AM) Surprisingly I didn't receive any SMS regarding this and I have got the card earlier than you and have fulfilled on day 1 it seems. Can you share the content of the SMS so that I can check from my phone? Alternatively can try this also. Login to your CIMB Clicks and check the secured messages that may be posted in your account.

QUOTE(Jason @ Jan 2 2024, 01:39 PM) Isn’t the 1% admin fee waived. I looked at the website it’s still stayed waived. Where you see it’s now being charged? Yes, the 1% admin fee is not charged by CIMB. CIMB will still charge for cross border fees. (Where applicable) To readers, the term admin fees and cross border fees should not be used interchangeably. Supposedly MBB cards are the lowest rate for overseas use. If anyone here holding both CIMB and MBB cards then I'd encourage to make the same comparison. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 2 2024, 03:00 PM

QUOTE(Imsilly @ Jan 2 2024, 12:53 PM) With the lucrative benefits of TWE gone, can anyone advise what card are worth switching to in terms of local spend to miles conversation? HLB infinite gives enrich miles directly at rm3.50 to 1 enrich mile, UOB visa infinite not too bad either, however would rather stick with cimb as I have preferred and existing products with them. I would advise anyone who finds a better card to their benefits to go for it and not look back to TWE. Consumers wants the best return for their credit card usage, consumers would go to anyone who offers it. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 2 2024, 04:18 PM

QUOTE(Thebestscammer @ Jan 10 2024, 11:11 AM) If I cancelled my card due to fraud and they will be issuing me a new card, what happens when there is a refund process (separate transaction from another seller) on the old card number? Does it go through or do I need to give the new card number to the other merchant for refund? NFA on your side. When the refund is done, it will be via your old cc number which the bank will reconcile back to your new card number.

QUOTE(wjleong15 @ May 2 2024, 07:29 PM) Cimb can convert ecard to other card? Anyone tried before? Each card product have their own eligibility. If you want another card product, bank will check your eligibility and then only approve the new card product to your profile. (if you are eligible for it) Old card product would need to be cancelled. I'm not sure where you get the idea that card products (i.e ecard) can be converted - CIMB don't do such a thing and I'm certain that no other bank in Malaysia will offer you credit card product conversion.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ May 25 2024, 03:13 PM) wait till you see Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad – Muamalat Pos Visa Infinite-i's annual income requirement... need min RM300k :stars: This one literally threw a spanner 🔧 to their own product. One can easily match the card benefits from other banks with much lesser annual income requirements. Unless of course they have a specific need for Pos products discounts.

QUOTE(ah_Keng @ Jul 16 2024, 04:30 PM) Yup, CIMB TWE may not be 0%. If anyone have this card, you can check the overseas transaction rate using the link above. Then compare it with what the bank charged you - MDR charged is ~1.2%-1.3% This post has been edited by hye: Jul 16 2024, 08:20 PM

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Aug 7 2024, 08:52 AM) bank will charger on next statement. so you need to cancel before sept or just call cs now and ask to waive annual fees before it charge It would be impossible to seek AF waiver for TWE if you do not meet the spending requirements. Member either take the risk to spend and pay off before statement date (and AF is charged) or avoid spending in Sept month altogether using TWE. The risk here is that the bank may insist charging the AF as there's spending in the AF charge month. Member to decide what he/she wish to proceed. QUOTE(Voonz @ Aug 20 2024, 08:09 PM) Dear all, my CIMB world elite creidt card was approved beginning of August and I was immediately charged annual fee of 1215.09 in August. I thought this is charged usually at the end of the end ? Is this normal ? I didn't get this when I was using my Maybank card. Thinking of cancelling it CIMB TWE AF is charged upfront and (if I'm not mistaken), no 1st year AF waiver offer running at the moment. And if you don't meet the spending requirements, bank would not entertain any AF waiver request at all. No idea whether you will be successful in cancelling your TWE right after the cc approval.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 28 2024, 05:06 PM) Important Notice: Notice of Amendments to CIMB and CIMB Islamic Bank Credit Card Terms and Conditionshttps://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/importa...-sept-2024.html Thanks for the notice information. One thing is certain - no change to TWE AF. CIMB made it very clear that it will be charged in the first month itself and the AF waiver structure for this card type remains unchanged and firm. Hope our members here take note as quite many here think it can be waived or the bank will give some leeway for the AF. (and they will not! even if you are CIMB's preferred banking member) This post has been edited by hye: Aug 28 2024, 05:58 PM

QUOTE(shirleywst19 @ Aug 31 2024, 04:10 PM) I notice when I make payment by using CIMB cc in oversea site ie Agoda/ xiamen Air etc, although it show RM, but final charges will be additional few % , then I test it by using my RHB cc, it charges exactly what it show on website, try on both VI and TWE CIMB is known to charge cross border fees. Have a look at the cross border fees discussion to see what other merchants will be impacted by cross border fees.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 22 2024, 05:04 PM) Service tax is imposed by government. Banks cannot waive it. They can credit a cash back to you to offset the SST, in reality they will still pay for you to the government behind the scene. They are just absorbing the cost for you. So, it’s up the bank to do it or not. Thank you for stating this clearly. I've been stating this for more than 10 years in this forum. Quite a journey standing up to this statement. Even encountered strong pushback back then when the forum wants to follow the popular term which is "waive" whereas actually it should have been "offset" / "cashback" of similar meaning. Incorrect term should not be defended else it becomes a norm and members think believe it is so. (and ask for the waiver not understanding that it can never be waived in the first place) This post has been edited by hye: Sep 23 2024, 05:20 PM

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 23 2024, 05:35 PM) Just to add on to this statement, when requesting for the banks to absorb the SST, my request is generally worded this way: I understand that the RM25 service tax is a tax imposed by the government on each credit card. However, in view of my loyalty and significant card usage, could you please consider providing a rebate of RM25 to offset the tax? [Sometimes I add "in line with previous years' rebates provided" or "as other banks have provided me such rebates" depending on the circumstances]. I have experienced 100% success rate with banks which have discretion/policies to accomodate requests for such rebates. Note that some banks WILL NOT provide rebate/offset, so I don't even bother asking. Thanks for your comments. In the past, myself too have asked for the SST rebate. Sometimes getting it and sometimes not. I'm not against anyone asking from the bank and getting it. But the members practice of coming in here asking others how to get the "SST waiver" need to stop. Like what is being mentioned by @fruitie, the banks are increasingly saying no for SST rebate now. This post has been edited by hye: Sep 23 2024, 08:32 PM
