i've CIMB visa infinite (preferred).

lately i went to Plaza Premium lounge, they said the card can't be used. probably due to exceeded limit.

i traveled quite a long lately this year.

Is there any cap for that?

I thought unlimited access.
*
For CIMB Preferred VI - 6x PPL access (private wealth) or 4x access (Preferred) + unlimited in Sg, Indo, Thai, Camb.
However, from the PPL list, it shows only local + Sg.

So, your card is actually able to tell PPL that your quota is exhausted...?
I am wondering whether PPL have no idea and continue letting you in, while your CC is charging you for exceeding limit.

I got my card in january, spend rm18,000+ with it. No points in yet, called cs they told to wait for another 6 week.
*
Is it worth to spend rm18k for 60k enrich?
Or shall we keep the rm18k for 8k kf/am?

Yup correct.
The person who need to have CIMB Enrich Platinum Mastercard credit card + MAS boarding pass, then only entitled to access the Golden Lounge as the staff there will verify
*
But you could bring along a guest and use both vouchers right?

3) *If you redeem Business class with Japan Airlines, you can maximise the value of your Enrich mile. 1 Enrich is up to 0.17319 (about 4 times the value with Enrich business class)

For example, I recently redeemed a one-way flight from Tokyo to London Heathrow.
The cheapest one-way business class is RM 23k with Japan Airlines EXCLUDING taxes

*
Hi, the 17 cents is a fake value, someone would like to use the term - it is only for syok sendiri.
We NEVER calculate the redemption value based on 1 way ticket, always use return ticket price minus tax and divide by 2.

Take your example, TYO-LHR, random search, cheapest return ticket ~ RM21k (exclude tax); one way ticket ~ RM19k (exclude tax).
See, the price difference is only 10%.
Hence I will say your redemption "value" is approx 9 cents (which is good) rather than 17 cents!

*IMPORTANT* - Don't allow people to bank in cash to your bank account. Always request that people pay cash into their OWN account then transfer back to your current account so there is proper record. Otherwise banks will think it is dodgy to receive cash into bank account.

One cash deposit a day could be enough to trigger a bank's review

Glad that you highlighted this, many people will only teach the first step and ignore the subsequent step/warning.
End up someone landed in big trouble.

I assume buying from the Apple Store will be charged with cross border fees if I pay with CIMB TWE? sad.gif I plan to get the new iPhone and AW Ultra 2. Quite a substantial amount but 1% charges do not justify it. cry.gif

No point also, use amex

Why no point? As in no bonus points? Ya, I think I will use AmEx Reserve or get from other places and swipe with TWE.

May get under recurring

Anyone know the calculation for transactions made in foreign currencies? Eg. If price is USD10 and I swipe my MY CIMB CC, how much will be incurred in MYR?

Per https://www.cimb.com.my/en/personal/help-su...edit-cards.html, it says Forex rate determined by MasterCard International +1% Admin cost. No fee mentioned for the Dynamic Currency Conversion service.

So if rate is USD 1: 4.8, then the total incurred would be RM 48.48 ((10 x 4.8 ) * 1.01)?

Doesn't seem right though, like I'm missing some other hidden fees.
*
Almost correct, put it this way, refer to MasterCard rate (instead of Forex rate) of the day + 1% fee.
TWE gives us one of the lowest available.
Never ever use DCC, regardless which bank/CC, always swipe in local currency (the currency of the country you swipe).

I refer to the CIMB Travel MasterCard. Anyone know if the term 'Retail Spend' is included in the following spending?

1. Ewallet top up
2. Insurance payment
3. Utility Bills
4. Government (Assessment fees etc)

Thank you!
*
What's your question behind? Whether those are calculated as genuine spend for AF waiver? I don't see why not

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, this also applies to online purchases/subscriptions in foreign currencies as well? Mastercard Rate + 1% CIMB Admin Fees.

And do the Basic Platinum cards follow the same rules? I don't hold TWE, just want to make one time/recurring payments in a foreign currency.

Also, how can I ensure that DCC is disabled? If the merchant lists their price in USD and I pay using my CC, I presume that it will convert per Mastercard rate +1%.
*
Applicable for online, but some may fall under recurring and no point given.
Not sure if Travel Platinum the same, I believe yes.
When you swipe overseas, make sure they select local currency not home currency (will get you DCC), sometimes it is hard to avoid and you can't disable it.

Also take note on cross border fee, some merchant charge you in RM but it's a foreign gateway, will land you additional 1% cross border fee.
If not mistaken, Agoda and Apple (and many more) fall under this.

CIMB T&C mentioned min RM3,000 "Retail Spend" will eligible for airport lounge access and a RM65 Grab voucher (to airport)
Just wonder if Ewallet top-up, Insurance/ Bill payments and Government related taxes also consider as "Retail Spend" ...
*
Should be no problem, you may read the T&C again for detail.
Retail spend usually exclude the following:
Quasi cash (betting), installment, annual fee/SST, cash advance, refunded/disputed transactions

Guys, for your TWE, did you check the oversea charges?
I realize sometimes they are charging the 1%.

I raised discrepancies query through cimbclick inbox
CS - there is 1% for oversea charges, except TWE.
me - my card is TWE.
CS -Oh, then lots of standard messages
me - can you get someone to call me
CS - no, we cant call, then lots of standard messages

I called call center
CS - 1% for oversea charges
Me - no, my card no charges
CS - yes, there is
Me - can you show me screenshot of T&C
CS - i cant, but I can show you the T&C on website
me - ok, pls guide me where
CS - open cimb.com.my, click 3 dash, find your credit card, click fee and charges
me - yes
CS - see, 1% charges except TWE
me - my card is TWE
CS - ok, i will lodge your case, we write you back in 3 working days

after this, I randomly check some oversea charges, indeed for some transactions they charge 1%
*
It's always 1% on top of Mastercard rate, not some.
CIMB is not charging you 1% administrative fee but they are charging you something else (bank fee, transaction fee, handling fee or whatsoever), many people asked CS previously, no need argue with them.
Also the T&C stated clearly "plus any transaction fee charged by Mastercard", super tough to fight with them.
Nevertheless, TWE is one of the best card for overseas use with only 1% fee, compare to many other cards charging 2-2.5%

quick question, is airbnb booking paid in MYR count as oversea trans for cimb travel?
*
Iirc, airbnb not only not considered as overseas but will incur additional 1% cross border fee (when pay in RM), as discussed in previous page.
If you cancel your booking, you will kena another 1% cross border fee for refund
