Does cimb tend to quickly charge late payment/finance charges compared to other bank?

According to CIMB Customer Service
• Statement date is on 28th of every month • Statement balance is to be paid in full by the due date to avoid incurring finance charges [Do not offset using cash rebate] • All cash rebates earned in current month statement will be posted in the next month statement under their respective cash rebate categories Just realized the statement must be paid in full..if we continue to spend on dining on weekends...then forever our credit will need to carry forward to next month... right? |

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Aug 31 2019, 03:28 PM) According to CIMB Customer Service Yes. This is unique for CIMB.• Statement date is on 28th of every month • Statement balance is to be paid in full by the due date to avoid incurring finance charges [Do not offset using cash rebate] • All cash rebates earned in current month statement will be posted in the next month statement under their respective cash rebate categories Just realized the statement must be paid in full..if we continue to spend on dining on weekends...then forever our credit will need to carry forward to next month... right? Already known. CIMB won't treat cash back as payment to offset the current statement balance. I believe this has been clearly stated in their TnC. |

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Aug 31 2019, 03:28 PM) According to CIMB Customer Service unless you STOP spending with the card, you wouldnt see much difference and experience the "forever credit need to carry forward to next month" la• Statement date is on 28th of every month • Statement balance is to be paid in full by the due date to avoid incurring finance charges [Do not offset using cash rebate] • All cash rebates earned in current month statement will be posted in the next month statement under their respective cash rebate categories Just realized the statement must be paid in full..if we continue to spend on dining on weekends...then forever our credit will need to carry forward to next month... right? the cashback falls onto next statement cycle (inclusive your new spending), so, by the time the new statement is out, actual billed/statement-ed amount would be LESSER due to last cycle's cashback (already earned but didnt get to "use" it). slightly painful for 1st month (delayed gratification) but you will get it nonetheless. |

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Sep 2 2019, 08:43 AM) Not using CR card. I was using CIMB-Petronas MC, statement balance must be at least RM3000 to get the best CB%. CIMB encourage you to spend more, no advance payments, or some outstanding carried forward from previous month! |

I think better don’t touch this CC. |

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Sep 2 2019, 08:59 AM) Then we will be charged for some interest right? In my humble opinion, one statement is generated with the statement balance > RM 3k, you can still pay off this balance by payment due date.Like this also difficult to track & make sure 0% earn by bank every statement balance. I think better don’t touch this CC. |

So no interest charged.Like this also difficult to track & make sure 0% earn by bank every statement balance. I think better don’t touch this CC. Now switch to VI.
