Sorry if this doesn't belong in this board. I've tried searching around the forums for some sticky of art supply stores, but couldn't find any.

But anyway, I just got back from an extended period out of the country, and with some extra time on my hands I've been yearning to get back into some art projects that I've had in my sketchbooks for awhile now. But alas I can't do much without any art supplies!

I haven't done much looking around the Klang Valley for the stuff I need, like canvases, acrylic paint, brushes, just to name a few. I'm not looking for anything high end or top quality, but mostly cheap and manageable cause it's only a hobby.

Help me dear forumers and forgive me again if this post doesn't belong here.

nanyang art store at petaling st. have some decent art stuffs. Or else try shop area around any art college. usually there will be at least one.

There are quite a few stores near the Art school in Taman Melawati. West Star / The Art Shop = have a wide assortment of materials and aren't too pricy (but it depends on what brand you opt to buy ofc). I recently went there to buy stretched canvas cuz I wanted to try oil painting out.

almost everywhere in every nooks corner of KL you can find them.
Even those Popular Bookstore could be found supplying these art materials nowadays.

the shop in sunway is right behind the one academy...the shop's name is Vision Art

there's another one in kelana jaya.. nearby the old Lim Kok Wing building.. the shop there is called Wing's Art ... Wing's has more stuffs.. you can find most of your stuffs there..

If staying around Cheras area, check out Art Friend at UE3 3rd floor (occupies 2 shoplot). I get most of my supplies there. The price is surprisingly more affordable than anywhere else that I know.

bcoz as I know it was only at Kinokuniya, which is too expensive and not completed (No G-Pen holder)

I just came back from Mid Valley. In Gardens Mid Valley the highest floor near the food court and Borders, there is a shop called Art Friend. This shop have a lot of stuff. I do not know if the prices are high, but there are a lot of imported art supplies. If you become a member for RM10 (i do not know if its yearly or lifetime) you get 10% off everything. I bought some grass lookalike mat for diorama building. And they are a Singaporean company.
