honestly, the search engine is a very poor search engine.
first, it will return the topic which is totally different with the search keyword.
second, i can't seach LG product, because LG is only 2 character.
lousy......

honestly you need to read some of the tips on searching before complaining. The limits are imposed by the database itself, and there are ways to complete the search. And when all else fails, there is google.

What was your search query? You probably entered it in a disjunctive form rather than a conjunctive one, or you have unrelated words adding noise to the search.

OK, just for fun I"m going to create a second search index to include digrams and compare the size difference.

There's no doubt that the MySQL fulltext index isn't the most powerful around, but it happens to be the most convenient to implement. Furthermore, when you consider the lengths of each individual post around here (i.e. short), other products might not be able to do much better wink.gif

Hmm, if he can't search in the first place, how is he going to find resources to help him search
