Eh it's MNVO, but it uses VPN as stated in their FAQ

Anyway, just signed up and requested for free SIM delivery, get some nice numbers while you can, best part is free RM3 credit

Price: RM30 - 5GB/400 mins or 2.5GB + 200 mins, I like the flexibility, RM50 - 10GB/800mins

Top up can directly use digi voucher, weird.

Why use this when have tune talk? You must use their app to make calls, you must use VPN, you cannot use Uber, tethering etc, yet it's expensive. Yeah, I sell all the reasons for using it...

So far, call quality is reliable... Can receive SMS... But TAC either failed to receive or delayed by 15 minutes...

so tapp is own by digi. sim card send by digi. using digi reload.
RM40 for 30 days validity & 7.33GB nothing special.

The only special think is the vvip number and I got mine.

For maximum 30 days validity for (max data | max min calls)
RM 1 = 4 MB = 5 min
=> 4MB per MYR => RM0.20 per min call
RM 10 = 40MB = 80 min
=> 4MB per MYR => RM0.125 per min call
RM 15 = 236MB = 140 min
=> 15.73MB per MYR => RM0.125 per min call
RM 30 = 5GB = 400 min
=> 166.67MB per MYR => RM0.1071 per min call
RM 50 = 10GB = 800 min
=> 200MB per MYR => RM0.0625 per min call
RM 100 = 31.83GB = 2000 min

Yes it drains faster in a bit when having an app running behind. Adding that another app called "tapConnect" for messages and calls.

I've called my tapp number without simcard activated and on wifi, it actually rang. Weird that yours didn't.

Btw been waiting for my simcard since registered on 11th, haven't receive or heard anything yet. Guess digi didn't want me as their customer lol

A good data plan..

used. My commnets are:
1. battery drained as tappconnect always connect
2. everything ride on app which very annoy.
3. Plan not so attractive after all.

I have both apps installed in phone and tablet.

the sim is inserted in tablet.

the usual internet browsing etc still occur
- via wifi, OR
- via mobile data through SIMs of other telcos, OR
- via mobile data through tapp's own SIM if I have mobile data allocation

the one thing I don't like about this tapp is the need to run vpn in the background.

it does not seem to take over my internet routing i.e. I can see whatismyip didn't change when connected to tapp's vpn. I believe it is only required for the tappconnect app to route certain IP to get in touch with their voice and messaging secure servers deep inside protected network.

since there can only be 1 VPN up at any time, that means I cannot have my private browsing vpn up If I wish to keep being reachable on tapp.

which begs anither question - if I don't have the mobile data allocation on tapp's SIM, will I be able to VPN to the voice and messaging servers as I travel around...(?)

How to receive and making call with Tapp sim card?

the voice and messaging apps does not really mind which internet line you are using, be it office wifi, unifi, screamyx, time, maxis, digi, celcom, ...., overseas internet provider, ...., did I mention everyone already? the only thing is you need to be on tapp's vpn to access the voice and messaging.


my current believe is that the sim is mainly so that you can benefit from the data that you have allocated to yourself when you subscribed tapp, when you are out and about.

...and when you have data, you must vpn to reach tapp's voice and messaging.

This seems good for low usage people, do you need to buy data for the app to connect to their network? What about sms?

you can't MNP to 015 number.

yoodo is xpax with credit/debit card direct billing
tapp ookyo yoodo is more like side plan to make extra money.

Thank you for the reply. This has clarified what their FAQ does not mention. I was looking for a calling app that can receive call forwarding even overseas. I think tapp connect will fit the bill nicely.
