I really doubt it. Maybe 2020 at the earliest (with the old Skyactiv-G 2.0L engine)
*
rumour has it, that they will be using the new skyactiv-X engine. hopefully it's a turbocharged engine too.

QUOTE(shanjuen @ Nov 29 2018, 04:09 PM)

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Dec 1 2018, 09:34 PM)
Well, their current engine which has high compression ratio did not really produce earth shattering power. So, i don't know what i can hope for in the new engine.

For me, it is not meant to be a performance oriented engine. So, i don't really bother with what they stick into the car as long as it doesn't have reliability problems long term wise.
*
Mazda has always place more attention to the drivability as it is a more driver centric car. So long it doesn't compromise the other areas too much it should be a problem and yeah also the reliability, so long it doesnt give rise to major problem, then shouldn't be an issue i guess...

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Dec 3 2018, 11:10 AM)
Not rumour, confirm that the skyactiv-x will debut on the mazda3; not turbocharged, but mild superchargerd
This is so disappointing....would rather that they start with sacking the suspension mounting supplier from their vendor list. Waste so much after service resources on lower arm and strut top mount. Best part still.....also cannot resolve, just kick the can down the road to resurface months later...
As the unofficial thread owner of the civic saying this :

Thanks for the info.
What's the price range like? rumour says that there might be some small price hike to the current M3.

I not prophet, no insider knowledge either, just read info around the net only....you seem to know more rumours than what i know, share what you know leh  brows.gif

Small price hike is definite, the exchange rate already quite a difference between the time facelifted mazda3 was launched here and the exchange rate now. Unless suddenly malaysia found a huge oil field or gold mine, the exchange rate won't get any better in the short to medium term. Further, all these trade war thing going on, the supply chain disruption will incur some costs as well....take your guess....
*
hahaha just a point for discussion, no need to take offence geh bro. let me ask around on its launching date, price, specs, etc.

Never driven a CBU car before.

will a CBU mazda 3 be substantially superior than a CKD mazda 3?

except for the price. it's supposed to be the same isn't it? minus the trimmed specs.

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Dec 4 2018, 05:33 PM)
CKD used to mean something different to the local manufacturers. Last time CKD is termed as what we call SKD now where cars are brought in as complete as possible and only the bumpers are painted and / or installed here on the assembly line. This was just to take advantage of some loopholes in the past for the manufacturers benefit or something.

Currently, CKD could possibly mean parts localisation where certain pretty general parts like some trim pieces or something could be sourced locally to reduce costs of making the car.

With this, then there is sure some differences in quality. For those who have tried between a CKD and CBU Merc would have been able to tell there are differences however subtle they are. Even if not for parts, the process or the way it is assembled could have some affects on the car.
*
I see, thanks for your explanation.

In that case, it depends on how much the price reduction will be, if it's a mere couple of thousands, might as well opt for the cbu version with non-subpar installation/parts etc that you will have to compromise.

Yes. Thus a partially used car. And yours is almost 150km on the clock too.

It's from CSL.
*
i think 150km is pretty okla, not very far yet.
but i do agree that 5.8k discount is a bit too little for such car especially if it's 2018 car.

if it's at least 10% discount from the new car's price. then probably a better take.

well in that case you exercise you due diligence and decide if it's a good one. Since you have taken it already, so no point looking back and getting possible heartache, just enjoy the new ride.

meanwhile I'm waiting for the new Mazda 3 or the much anticipated CX-30..... goshhhhhhhh cant wait ehhhh brows.gif

Will the next Mazda 3 come to us this year or 2020?
*
well, rumours has it that the mazda 3 will be launched by mid this year, whilst i am hopeful that it will be launched during the 3rd Q of this year and start delivering the car by the end of this year or beginning next year.

Meanwhile the CX-30, will have to wait until next year, but when? not sure yet. Though very tempted to get a compact SUV that's in between CX3 and CX5. Maybe I will wait until I can have both cars in the showroom to see for myself before deciding which one to go with.

I just recently swapped my stock Mazda 3's 18 inch Toyo Proxes F1 Sport tyres for Michelin Primacy 4 215/45/18 tyres and the difference in terms of road harshness and loudness has been toned down is quite apparent. The ride is much smoother and quieter now.

Sidenote, I'm selling my used set of Toyo Proxes F1 Sport tyres that have 13,000KM mileage/6 months old for sale if anybody is interested - drop me a PM. smile.gif
*
How much was the damage for your Michelin tyres?

Sorry found out your cost in the later posts. Thanks. Kindly ignore.

Hi guys, would like to ask thr owners of the latest 2019 mazda 3 owners. I watched on YouTube that the mazda 3 is unable to switch the headlamp to "off" position as it is always at "auto" for the Taiwan version.

Is this the case for our Malaysian version too?

You can't switch to "OFF" position permanently but you can temporary switch off the headlights by twisting the knob to "OFF". When you twist to "OFF", you will also switch off the running daylights.
*
QUOTE(ye0073 @ Dec 16 2019, 11:22 PM)
No, you can switch off the head lamp manually.
*
noted with thanks guys. noted that our version can be manually turned off including the DRL.
