Honestly, the GVC is more of a safety feature or a performance feature instead?

QUOTE(player101 @ Apr 11 2019, 10:19 AM) Yes,the showroom unit is 2018 version ,total millage 141 KM (I think is very low) That amount of discount is definitely unworthy for a partially used car. Got one salesman offered me 4k discount for a new car but pre-reg, but sadly its not the colour I want.tatal discount = RM 5.8K |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ May 12 2019, 10:42 PM) Seems unlikely to have huge discount now. I just asked 1.5 months ago and not a single cent discount was given. Even those who opt for showroom car also given minimal discount. So in the end what car you got? Having lusted the car over few years, I decided a wiser choice is to follow my brain instead of heart and get another car instead, considering that there is no discount for outgoing model, and expecting the new model to cost even more. Bet I am going to envious of those who drive the new Mazda 3 few months down the road, but I guess my wallet wouldn't permit it just yet The 2019 Mazda 3 will definitely be higher than the current ones. Heck Skyactix-X variant might go up more than 150k judging how those car bloggers comment on how premium that variant is. But I personally not very fond of the latest Mazda 3, thus holding on if theres any discount on the current one. Last resort might go for a used 2018 unit if theres any haha |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ May 13 2019, 12:27 AM) What are the reasons for not liking the new M3? The exterior design of the car, but the interior is premium and nice nonetheless. Initially I thought the outgoing model looked similar, until a side by side comparison is shown. I was like woah, the outgoing model looks really dated. I am looking at Civic now given its similar price point and the need for passenger's comfort (as much as I like M3, it will not be as comfortable for my family to sit behind), and the Raya discount isn't too bad. If compare like that then surely lah the current model looks dated haha. But I'm still liking it very much until today You're eyeing the turbocharged variant? How much are they offering now? QUOTE(cyew86 @ May 13 2019, 01:45 PM) Found some offering RM4.5k to RM5k discount now across all variants. Not too bad considering how the car price has dropped compared to when it first launched (RM135k vs RM128k SRP) Ah... Quite a good deal. Is the discount on top of that 128k? I had been checking Mazda Anshin website on daily basis but they did not have stock for M3. Maybe you can try your luck there if you don't mind pre-owned Oh wow. Just found out about that website. Definitely wouldn't mind pre-owned car as long as its worth the bucks QUOTE(clement5949 @ May 13 2019, 01:57 PM) Or Bermaz is too stingy to give discounts |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ May 13 2019, 11:18 PM) Driven my friend's TCP. Didn't enjoy it as much mainly because it's CVT, but the torque is there when you need it. It's good for city drive or ordinary none spirited drive, but if you're a little enthusiastic like someone who would touge during the weekend, then that's definitely not the car to go for. But since you're a family man, this car is pretty much good to go with the space it offers. |

QUOTE(edroli @ Aug 24 2019, 03:21 PM) Wanna get recommrndation: Damn. Bermaz just don't bother to lower the price lol. Even old model also still don't give discounts. Beginning of this year around February I got a quote for 2019 at 120k also lol Which one will you choose abd why? 1) Mazda 3, latest 2019 version, full spec - RM160k 2) Mazda 3, manufactured in 2019, previous generation, full spec - RM120k(promo price) 3) Mazda CX 5 2.0, full spec - RM142k Purpose: Mid 30s, single, own drive CX 5 seems spacious and more comfortable Btw, better make sure that its really 2019. Don't be another waterfish like one previous forumer. |

Any Mazda3 BM owner here? Was chatting with a workshop boss yesterday and sorta trashed that car lol. He said that the air-cond has and endless issue and the car is "petty" in a way. He also said that the wear and tear parts are pretty flimsy though the car is new.
Any owners here can rectify such claim? Some say new Mazdas nowadays maintenance costs are similar to conti car. The battery itself for Mazda3 is about 800? |

Anyone here did a dyno on stock Mazda 3 BP?
Saw an owner did a stock Dyno in Thailand, the car is running only 115hp on the wheels. Is it really that low lol Now I'm not surprised when reviewers said there's no significant difference between 1.5 and 2.0. |

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Apr 19 2021, 09:45 AM) that's about the reported HP on paper so no surprise there (i assumed you are referring to the 1.5 litre engine) and how much HP are you expecting Mazda to extract out of a 1.5 litre engine  On the wheels means WHP. So it's about 2.0 lol.the difference between the 1.5 and 2.0 can only REALLY be felt when the cars are doing straights otherwise they both drive relatively similar because instead of slapping on the same gear ratios for different engine variants like all other car manufacturers do, Mazda actually gives the 1.5 a different final gear ratio. A loss of 20-25% (max) on wheels based on 163hp figure is at least, at the very very least is 122whp. Tested 115whp means a loss extra 7whp. Which is quite significant. |

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Apr 19 2021, 10:36 AM) do you mind sharing the link to the said dyno test? should be an interesting read / watch Oh no. I remembered wrongly. It's 109hp instead lol 115whp from a 2.0 litre engine is very close to a 30% output loss and assuming that the loss is consistent through the same chassis then this would mean the 1.5 litre only has 80whp (which definitely doesn't feel like so). https://www.instagram.com/p/CFtt0Jnnhy_/?igshid=3gl95b2zqms7 Then I thought Thai has lower spec 2.0 compares to our shore. But after checking on Thai website it's the same numbers as ours https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.zigwheels....019-new-mazda-3 Odd isn't it |

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Apr 19 2021, 12:22 PM) i don't see in any of the 2 links where it shows the dyno charts / results which shows the WHP is at 109. do you mind pointing me to the right direction? No charts. Can read from the owner's comment there After some remaps and some parts he got 147 on wheels. Back to what Mazda claimed to have lol |

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Apr 19 2021, 01:58 PM) they literally invested and designed an engine from ground up just to have an engine that is 15% more efficient therefore having a 35% parasitic loss on paper is just, counter intuitive for them. though i cannot argue the numbers provided by the maker but i have my reserves. judging from the aftermarket tires itself, i'm sure that there is more modifications than meets the eye and it is proven for a fact that some modifications can bring more harm than good. Tested the 2.0 test drive car myself. Loved it with its pickup and it's performance when I tackle corners. Last year I was actually comparing this after booking mk7 GTI, and this sexy Mazda 3 actually impressed me a lot. That's why I was dumbfounded when the owner himself said it's only good at 109 stock. The one I drove was no way it's anywhere near lesser than 130, whats more if it's 109 lol. Perhaps owners here or know someone has done a dyno run in Malaysia. Then it'd be interesting to know. |
