just to share...

i have got these two particular "suspension noise"

1) ngek ngek noise when go through higher speed bumps, during wet road conditions -

2) "kruk kruk" sound when going through uneven roads, very soft only noticeable when turned off the speakers. but somehow annoying. Is this the famous kruk kruk sound that most of you have with the suspension?

my car only 7k mileage, less than half year old...didn't expect these appear so fast lol..

So yours must be the facelift GVC Mazda 3. I thought they may have done something about it.

My car also has 1) but didn't notice 2). Personally they are minor complaints which I wouldn't worry about.

The lack of beep sound when locking doors is one of the most annoying aspect of the Mazda 3 GL. Many time I had to press the remote again to make sure the car is locked. I've asked one guy who can do brake lock by going deep into the infotainment unit whether they can do the beep but he says the M3 GL lacks a buzzer.

Mazda shouldn't have been so mean to leave out this feature for M3. The cost is practically negligible.

Hi guys, when the blinking i-stop indication comes out that to tell you that your battery can no longer support i-stop how long should we wait before changing the battery? I can do without i-stop but I don't want to wait until I can't start the car.

Thanks for your replies, guys. Anyway I replaced mine because I noticed it takes a little more effort to start after parking 2 days. It appears our i-stop failure can be used as early warning indicator of used battery life. No excuse to be caught with a dead battery any more.

Very professional. He will reset the i-stop and power window latching after installation. Some shops may not have the software to do it. Usually the driver power window will not wind down with 1 touch after battery change so it has to be corrected.

So if i buy a new battery and install myself, I stop and window will unable to function well ?
*
Mazda 3 is not a car where you just take out the old battery and put in a new one. After changing battery you need to connect a laptop to the ODB2 port with the proper software to reset the i-stop and the power window.

No need PC.  Do you have any Mazda service bulletin to support your claim?
*
That's what the installer for my battery did. I'm not claiming anything. If there is no need to use a laptop so be it. Why should I waste time looking for a Mazda service bulletin to support what I did not claim?

Just changed my M3 tyres for the first time at 70,000km. Surprised they are so long wearing. They may not be the quietest but since they are so long wearing I decided to use back Toyo NE03 205/60/R16 which is same as the stock tyres.

Cost is RM245 each at TC & Sons Tyre Services in Klang. Alignment for 4 wheels is RM32. Satisfied with the service. Chinese workers, not Banglas.

Mazda isn't a premium brand here. If they go for premium pricing their market will just go away. Look at Ford now selling only a few passenger cars a month. At the last market report they only sold two! Maybe only the CKD CX-5 can sell. The rest of the models will sell a few cars a month so Bermaz will have to downsize. Meanwhile I believe the report linked by @wkc5657 is creditable so those who want to buy a Mazda 3 should act fast.

Will Malaysians appreciate the engineering? No. This is like casting pearls before swines. They only look at the price.

Bermaz is going to get a lesson from the school of hard knocks on how much Malaysians are prepared to pay for a C-segment sedan.

True. There's this saying "there is no bad product. Only bad price". It's the same for the opposite.
The new Mazda3 is definitely a good car but at 160k, it should come with SkyActive-X. The top line is just a tad cheaper than the entry level Mazda 6 with the same engine. ohmy.gif
Not only that. The entry level Mazda3 has a Mazda2 1.5 NA engine. That's hard to swallow at 139k no matter how pretty and comfortable the car is.
No SkyActive-X is already considered taking a cut haha.

Edit: Just checked. The previous gen CBU was launched at 139k before GST dropped it to 135k. The CKD version was launched in 2015, highest trim was 124k. All price was OTR with tax without insurance. This was forex at that time. Now the MYR has weakened so much.
*
Basically the prices Bermaz is asking for the Mazda 3 are for D segment class cars. Buyers of D-segment cars are senior managers and high level executives and they are not going to go for a C-segment car no matter how good the engineering is. Buyers of C-segment cars are young professionals and they can't afford it. The price does not match the target market.

Anyone updated the navigation map? Need to do ourself? Will the "favourites" locations remain after the update?

I think you are allowed one free update and then you got to pay for it. Not worth it in my opinion.

Just use the recommended Ron 95. The only difference with Ron 97 is the difference in your wallet.

Hi, im shopping around for a C-segment car.

cant decide between the mazda 3 highline or the civic 2019 facelift.

the civic is 30k cheaper but the mazda has better luxury interior. Do you think its worth it for the extra 30k? without CKD, mazda is quite expensive vs CKD civic.
*
RM30K + interest over the loan period is very substantial. You need more than luxury interior to justify the difference. You should test drive both and make an in-depth comparison of the features and driving characteristics of both cars before making a decision.

Guys, any common problems for the previous generation mazda 3? Looking to get one for year 2015-2017. Don't mind small little problem as long no major mechanical / costly issue. Drove it a few times and the overall driving experience is great.
*
Still driving my 2015 Mazda 3. For the past 5 years there are very few issues. Oil change every 10,000km. Battery change every 1.5 years. The only repair issue I had is the booth latch unable to lock at the 4.5 year mark .This was resolved by changing the booth latch for RM380.

The common problem with this generation on Mazda 3 is a suspension squeak sound when going over speed bumps in rainy weather when roads are wet. Ignored as this is not important to me. Overall a very reliable car. I-stop battery is a little expensive at RM450 but not a deal breaker.

Sounds great. What's your mileage so far? I have family members who owns cx5 and m3 hatch, both are great with no major issues but their mileage is relatively low though.

80,000 km.

What sound sound is that? I'm planning to buy a used 2017 model finding out all the flaws before hand.

Also it would be great of anyone could give an insight.

1) maintenance cost at Mazda sc, minor and major?
2) known issue?
3) how bad is the knocking sound when driving on uneven road?
4) can the bushing be replaced rather than changing the whole part(lower arm, etc)
5) gearbox issues?
*
The suspension squeak sound when going over bumps is actually a minor issue. There are two types: one which appears only when wet which probably affects most if not all M3s and the one which appears in dry conditions which only affects some cars. Mine only has the wet sound. Although it is a relatively minor issue you are going to keep hearing about this from owners due to lack of other issues to criticize. So you will keep hearing about it until it magnifies in your mind as a huge issue and becomes a deal breaker.

If you have a potential seller test drive and see if the sound bothers you. You may not even notice it.

2 years ago I would have gone for this Android Auto upgrade. But now no mood to do as my Mazda 3 already 5 years old. The only use of Android Auto for me is to navigate using Google Maps or Waze on the console. But now so used to sticking my phone on the windscreen. Dismantling the dashboard terrifies me that it may lead to noises later on.

Hi guys, I'm the owner of a 2015 Mazda 3 Skyactiv. Anybody knows if Android Auto can be installed on my car and what is the cost? Thanks in advance.
