There's never a 2.5T spec for the CX60. Only 2.5NA, 2.5 PHEV, and the rest are 3.3 inline 6 (petrol or diesel)
*
From my understanding, the 2.5T are still pretty new engine, but petty much DOA now with relatively short life. The SUV sizes, weight, power needed, definitely 2.5T will helps more on that, apart from 3.3L V6 from abroad, which not gonna sell good here due to roadtax scheme here.

But to carryover again the old 2.5NA engine on a newer products, doesn't sound great.

Yeah, they always have a weird way in marketing but that is OK because at the end of the day, they always come through. not this time.

Either way - not sure about others but they have certainly lost me as their customer and i'm not going back. I don't trust them anymore. Once i'm finished with with 5 years loan (and by that time, the streets should be flooded with Mazda3), i'll offload my Ignite and move on with Lexus.

Bermaz wanted to go "premium" but gets undone by their desperation. Foolish.
where did you received the news that the "feedback had been pretty ok"? for all i know, my SA told me that there's very little people who showed interest on the CX-60 and she even offered me a further special discount if i want it, delivery in September. Bermaz is not expecting to sell alot of CX-60 which is why they introduced the Mazda3 Rahmah simultaneously to cover up their sales figure.

There's no denying that car prices drop but what Bermaz did with the Mazda3 Rahmah is despicable. Let's assume that realistically, the Mazda3 Rahmah should at least be priced at RM149k since the High was sold at around that price for much lesser specifications - this would be a RM30k discount and it's a CBU, not a CKD. I was expecting a RM10k price cut across the range, not this.

I don't think either Toyota/Honda ever gave such a huge discount.

I don't feel bad, i just feel annoyed - i really liked Mazda as a brand, their visions, their principles and when Bermaz started marketing the Mazda3, they were bragging about it and how they are not interested in price wars and stuffs (they even repeated the same thing for XPENG). All these as a whole made me inclined towards them and maybe i am getting a little bit melancholic but this feels like betrayal to what the Bermaz stood for.

I'm probably guilty for being over-sentimental as i tend to attach myself emotionally to what i have (all my cars included) so this doesn't sit well with me.

i would flip in my grave if Rolex suddenly re-introduce my Rolex GMT for half the price.
*
To show how Mazda SA are desperate, I just comment and replying a comments and show my disappoinment thought about this upcoming CX-60 for the engine part offered at CX-5 FB group, then comes 3-4 Mazda SA put DM me for contacting them if interested for CX60.

Let's be real Mazda was never premium... those who said so really siok sendiri lah. Saying this as a Mazda lover as well.

Even in overseas market people are also not convinced. Affordable premium yes maybe but premium like Lexus, Merc or BMW? Nah. They really tried, its easy to make a premium car, but hard to convince the market and consumers that your brand is premium
*
I mean on abroad, they got a better deal for Mazda car. 2.5L NA for Mazda 3, some even getting Skyactiv-X which we are only dreaming to come it here. But from many forum I read, many are disappointed with Skyactiv-X, and better buy straight small displacement turbocharge engine as rival offered, cz even with Skyactiv-X, the FC real usage just not that great

with such specs and pricing, how are they gonna market the 2.0 H and H+? ridiculous man.

With China car brands offering many features at a much cheaper price + cash rebates, expect Bermaz to play the game of cash rebates as well. Just wait and see

the 1.5 felt underpowered with the 16's, can only imagine how much more sluggish it is going to be with the 18's. imagine a weekend drive up to Genting with your buddies who are in Civic/Altis and when they finished dinner, you have just arrived  sweat.gif
the Mazda3 has been on torsion beam since 2019 - it was controversial back then but Mazda had to sacrifice that for the sake of cost controlling.  Vios/City is definitely the better (smarter) choice but sometimes pride/ego speaks louder - college kids / fresh grads would rather starved to death then to die in satiety caught in poor man's clothes.
expect a price cut also for the 2.0H/2.0H+ and will not be surprised if there's a RM10k discount to both of those variant.
*
basically they drove Altis or Civic turbo, other drive Myvi 1.5

i could squeeze about 430km ~ 450km from a full tank in the 1.5, very light footed, city drive with the usual office crawl. highway probably gets you better figures. as for the 2.0, i don't see a lot of difference in the range.

i suspect a reduction of probably 10km ~ 20km from a full tank due to the heavier 18" on the Mazda3 Rahmah. it's going to take more effort just to move those extra weight from standstill traffic.
*
roughly 10km/l or 11km/l there.

Those of us here in the forums are more or less petrol heads or at least care about the nuts and bolts, will not respond to a 1.5L NA on a C-segment platform.

But, there are 10 times more people than us like Auntie, Jie Jie, ladies who really don't poke their right foot hard on the pedal. These are the targets of the Mazda 3 Rahmah. I can think of my sister who bought her Vios just last year and she would've jumped at this version of Mazda 3. My cubemate who is a lady is also going to take a look. Its a cute car at a cute price.

This is the same as Corolla Cross - People say its small, complaint the engine is lacklustre, complain against the CVT whatever but where I live, it outsells everything except for cheap chinese 2024 cars. The ownership demographics is wide, from young to old, man to woman, family to single, everyone.

I suspect this will be the same. Same as previous gen Nissan Almera. Same as the 2.0 CX-5 2024 KF.  As long as its Japanese, reliable, not too fussy, has some extra features like safety, people will jump on it.
*
Ultimately, this is the same situation back then when Proton launched Exora MPV but using Campro CPS 1.6L NA engine. 125hp 150Nm torque to handle the MPV sizes, many of the potential eye sceptical and voice out this MPV won't be able to climb Genting. But it can and on the road for many years b4 launch newer with 1.6T.

The only thing I dislike the Bermaz (not Mazda), was the compulsory accessories which customer needs to pay for rm2k+ but getting the junk skytint and old school coil type carpet. Family bought CX5 back in 2020 due to SST rebates

For me I don’t really bother.

I get my ignite, wife got a cx5, I agree on the price, I agree on the free service, I happy with the SC here. That’s it.
*
only 1 thing I disagree with Bermaz, even though the free service of 5 years/100k km (some offered back then 6 years/120k km), but all services don't make an ATF change. Its a conventional 6 gear auto torque converter GB, sure it needs an ATF change periodically, or at least make it last longer by having a fresh ATF after a certain KM. Read CX5 owner FB group, those who had GB issues are those after above 100k km, and follow Bermaz service, no ATF change.

tbh after 100k, the warranty had ended so you are free to do what you want, and most suggest to change the ATF asap

for cars still under warranty, its totally up to you. If you want to change then you risk voiding the warranty. but if you don't and anything happens to the GB, just claim warranty
*
Other manufacturers with normal auto torque converters put a recommendation for 1st ATF change at 50k or 60k km, then every 40k km interval later. Heading 100k km without any ATF change in the 1st place, afraid already make some slightly damage to the GB already

BMW don't put ATF change due to selling the GB as seal for life but their GB manufacturers, ZF ask to change ATF after certain KM. Drawback of having free maintenance combo instead?

Mazdas have ATF filter to change as well, so i think better change 1 shot no? Then again, since Bermaz do not change ATF oil as part of 5 years service package , would it void warranty if we change it outside on our own?
*
ask Bermaz to change ATF, they will give u a form to reject the warranty if any, need to sign etc. Solution by many Mazda ower, change the ATF outside, no trail left by just changing the ATF

Hi Guys, my Mazda 3 Skyactiv is now 10 years old and according to the owner's manual the radiator coolant should be changed at 200,000 km or 10 years. Mileage wise, I'm only at 105,000 km.

Is it really necessary to change the coolant at 10 years? This requires flushing the radiator and putting in Mazda long life coolant. I'm thinking of letting go of my car in another 2-3 years. I know many owners of cars older than 10 years don't bother to change the coolant and they are still driving happily.

Appreciate some advice here. Thanks guys.
*
To be fair, changing the coolant is not that expansive. Best to done it for an old cars. Not sure, I always found those who had car brokedown heading East at Karak highway always the very old car, can tell from their number plates.

And cz Mazda, please change the ATF

Best to put leather conditioner to the leather seat, be it spray or liquid form. Tried many brand, but the best bang for ringgit for me is always the Turtle Wax brand. Especially their leather conditioner spray

my ownership in 1.5 years

-not senior citizen friendly, not so family friendly.
-piano black center console easy scratch, meter panel SUPER easy to have micro scratches. i wash my car myself, it still scratches even if im super careful, but i dont bother about it already.
-ignite black rims are pain in the ass to clean.
-SC wise so far i claimed new water pump in less than 2 months of ownership, buzzing/frog sound. claimed without any hassle.
*
Which SC u find the best for warranty claim? Mine Glenmarie, Bermaz Motor Trading Sdn Bhd (Body & Paint Centre).

Inb4 claim steering clock spring (other SC just told normal, here test properly and claim this), rear tyre bearing
