Hello all. i've been seeing many of this fuel deposit cleaner. can i know where to read more about it?
*
It is basically a kind of solvent, it is also found within the additive pack in the petrol itself.

The purpose is to wash away soot/carbon throughout the fuel system to maintain the performance of injectors and clean the intake valves.

But for direct injected engines, the effect of this additive is pretty minimal on the intake valves other than on the fuel injectors.

You can read more about this issue by googling intake valve carbon/carbonisation.

rumour has it, that they will be using the new skyactiv-X engine. hopefully it's a turbocharged engine too.

*
Not rumour, confirm that the skyactiv-x will debut on the mazda3; not turbocharged, but mild superchargerd

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Dec 1 2018, 04:01 PM)
I heard Inokom has no intention to CKD the Mazda 3 in the kulim plant.

The sales level are too low for them to be interested in CKD'ing the car. They rather focus on making popular models as they not only cater for MY market but also some exports to nearby countries.
*
This is so disappointing....would rather that they start with sacking the suspension mounting supplier from their vendor list. Waste so much after service resources on lower arm and strut top mount. Best part still.....also cannot resolve, just kick the can down the road to resurface months later...

Of course la it is mild. It is understood in general kan? Eco engine brah.
Just one problem cannot be the defining the problem of the entire plant, kan?

That is like saying because one person is dumb, the entire human race is dumb.

Or one girl is ugly and all women are ugly.

if say supercharged, nanti konon expectation like the jaguar R series, floored every segment competition....

ok la....got your point on the plant...but just kind of disappointed as the mazda3 is the defining model of the brand like how the civic is to honda and camry is to toyota....

After all, profits rule the world....

Thanks for the info.
What's the price range like? rumour says that there might be some small price hike to the current M3.
*
I not prophet, no insider knowledge either, just read info around the net only....you seem to know more rumours than what i know, share what you know leh brows.gif

Small price hike is definite, the exchange rate already quite a difference between the time facelifted mazda3 was launched here and the exchange rate now. Unless suddenly malaysia found a huge oil field or gold mine, the exchange rate won't get any better in the short to medium term. Further, all these trade war thing going on, the supply chain disruption will incur some costs as well....take your guess....

huh? I thought Mazda defining model is the CX5? Not Mazda 3 kan. That is why CKD also dun wan entertain.

*
I mean in the whole context of the mazda range worldwide, but CX5 maybe in recent history. But could continue to be in the future if they focus and refined the future CX5 generations the right way.

I think not really don't want to entertain CKD, but more like want to free up the production line so can produce more CX5 locally. If really that unprofitable, long ago ditch the mazda3 CKD and end the line before the facelift.

Could be infrastructure constrains as locally also assembly CX5 for some regional countries. If mazda assembly operation can go independent away from HICOM/Inokom, the production operation could expand further. But again still depending on market demand....

QUOTE(kluseng @ Dec 4 2018, 09:12 AM)
If no more CKD Mazda 3 the upside is that we may get the new Mazda 3 with SkyActiv-X engine faster through CBU.

The downside is that price will go up substantially.
*
Who knows, maybe got some sort of a weird SKD loophole method that the korean brands can manage to secure. After all, the korean assembly operation and mazda is under HICOM/Inokom facilities.

Unfortunately not everyone thinks like you. Majority of the market will care less and buy the cheaper one and then opt to complain about it instead.

Trust me, without fail every time.
*
If only tried both CKD and CBU version back to back, if not really don't know where are the differences.

QUOTE(KnightSports @ Dec 5 2018, 10:31 AM)
Production line wise, of course it is the case that where they have a more streamlined processing and less trouble trying to keep tabs of what they need to build. They only need to build cars by batches and that keeps their parts inventory easy to manage especially using the JIT way of stocking inventory needed.

*
No way JIT on the local scale. IF really JIT, no need so big stock yard, almost push out the car straight out of assembly and can for certain know almost to the exact day when the car ordered will arrive at the dealership. Instead, what we now have is a guestimate of when the car will arrive or already sitting in the dealer yard as excess order.

I only tried before W212 Merc both a CKD and CBU back to back before. But even so it was like an E200 CKD vs an E250 CBU i think and there were differences just by the car going through the bumps.

So, my general presumption is that there will be differences either through differences in manufacturing or the quality of components used through localisation.

*
Care to elaborate more on the difference you felt (if your memory still serves you right)?

I went to the SC several times, they can't determine the cause of the sound. They say they have tighten up the screws, wiring in the fuse box, but the sound still persist. I give up. I found the youtube video that depict the same sound that I encountered. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJBYwsBdO0g]. Like what wkc5657 say, just have to ignore. I really find it irritating.
*
From somewhere i read a long time ago on some foreign country's mazda3 forum, it is some cabling related issue within the dash board, not the fuse box.

seems like very hard to get discount for mazda 3 model as they always lack of stock for this model.

and one of the SA told me, the 2019 model may become CBU already.

So i believe the price sure will hike.
*
It has been the mazda dealers policy to not give discount, so as to not bring down the car brand value unnecessarily and buyers go dealer/SA shopping (just like what happens to VW). Not a consistent customer service experience to begin with.

The volume for mazda3 really low, so the production line likely taken over by cx5 for the time being.

Best selling for current mazda range is cx5, and seems to be only cx5.

Mostly are the non facelifted version...that was the time when the price was more palatable.

After pricing adjustment, volume flow become a crawl, you'll realised very hard to find those with more recent plate numbers (on my side, not sure whether the condition on your end is different).

But does seemed like there are more mazda6 sold overall than mazda3.

Mine just arrived today 😁

Need to send for tinting first. Btw any of sifus here did protection coating? Is it really worth it? How much does it cost usually?
*
At least your SA wasn't shitting you, thumbs up to him/her.

For coating, if you really want to maintain/improve the surface lustre, go for it. If you do it for the sake of protection, it is an absolute waste of money as it requires "maintenance" (baffling....)

*
Save the money and swap for light weight rims, the original set is heavy (even more so for those before facelift, facelifted version should be a little lighter as the spokes are thinner).

You don't need japan made rims, proper taiwan brand like advanti can be considered :
https://www.mudah.my/New+18+Advanti+Storm+S...HR-69981008.htm

Or proper thailand manufacturer like lenso :
https://www.mudah.my/New+Ori+18+Lenso+Venom...RV-72344613.htm

Or else good condition second hand japan rims ;
https://www.mudah.my/Rim+ORIGINAL+ADVAN+RG2...+3-69754276.htm
https://www.mudah.my/18A+Rays+Gram+Lights+5...ie-71080142.htm

A word of caution, the front overhang of this car is a little long, can scratch/bang the bottom easily it easily. If you add further skirting, you can expect a lot of cold sweat moments.

omg, then i better just add spoiler is enuf and the rims.

btw, the car head is consider long for me. Because i been driving 2 SUVs for 5years.

May take sometime to used to it, wondering got ppl install front parking sensor or not
*
SUV also had long and big front bonnet, i think you just need to get used to the lowered height and reduced field of vision.

I would say you drive the car for at least a year so you can get a hang of it and the places you frequently go. By then you can better judge whether the skirting is worth a try. But i scratched the bottom part of the front part a few times already due to the overhang.

This mazda3 a little odd for the front partly due to the design (looks best if view from the rear 3 quarter angle) and engineering wise as the exhaust extractor design is longer than the average. The plus side is the added responsiveness and efficiency of the engine.

My car is stock top to bottom, so no skirting. Maybe partly due to my driving not that skilled la tongue.gif

But i remembered i don't have much of such issue with the old skol vios on the same areas....

one thing i am learning is to stop having the mindset that i can ramp my car at any place.

since my SUV can let me make u-turn over the middle road divider or half body on the divider just to make a turn  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

No, the only thing that is not stock are the engine oil and tyres tongue.gif

All else remain the same.

Hahaha....have to adjust your "road flexibility expectations". But this mazda 3 is no slouch when comes to some off roading trip as long as within limits. I managed to wade through a swampy plantation field for 2 hours when other cars around me were 4x4 or trucks.

even my current car, when i got it, first thing do is add a SQ subwoofer then changed front component speaker. then charged hella horn as well.

I havent try hows mazda 3 speaker, hope i dun need to spend so much in ICE as well.
*
I also want to change rims la, they are so damn heavy....but $$$ not sufficient tongue.gif

Once you tasted the high end stuff, OEM stock stuff no oomph.....Further, the NVH for mazda3 is not it's strengths, so i guess you'll likely change the ICE someday in the future soon smile.gif

It is at mudah.my website, just type in the search column and you have it. my.carousell.com also have some.

But firstly, you have to know what to search/what you want. I know about certain brands, so i just type in the brand name and sort by price. if you see those they write "ori design" or "design", those are replicas made by unknown manufacturers.

*
Since you're into ICE, i guess you should know a bunch of car kakis. You can ask for their help for first hand clarification.

Replica ones won't suddenly bent on normal driving. The risks comes when you hit something hard or a deep pothole. Some replicas undeniably can last throughout the lifetime of the car, but the risk is there for the owner to consider (provided the owner knows that it is a replica, some shops do cheat unknowing people).

Can try Lenso Venom :
https://www.mudah.my/Malaysia/New+Ori+18+Le...RV-72344613.htm

or sparco assetto gara (i remembered sometime ago this seller also sell the pcd fit for mazda, may need to check though) :
https://www.mudah.my/Sparco+assetto+gara+18...6142.htm?last=1

or if you fancy a little different, prodrive gc010e (this one forged by rays; 2nd hand though, super rare) :
https://www.mudah.my/Rays+japan+rim+17+prod...1658.htm?last=1

or my personal favourite, enkei nt03rr (not black but gunmetal grey) :
https://www.mudah.my/Enkei+NT03RR+18+8jj+of...AN-59111490.htm

Of course , cannot forget the venerable advan rs/rz series, expensive though whether new or used.
