Such unexpected news! Capcom is trying to make right by their old fans, and this goes a long way to make us like them again. But it seems this may not be a compilation, but rather separate releases. The Kotaku article added a note that Capcom's language suggests the games may be released separately. Hope we can get a confirmation soon.

Out of the Megaman X games, I have the most nostalgia for Megaman X3, because it was one of the very first CDROM games I had. My dad bought us a Pentium MMX 166Mhz with sound card and CDROM drive, which was a very big deal for me. Before that, I was using a 386/SX-33, later a 486/SX-25 with no sound card or CDROM drive. Having my first multimedia capable PC was one of my greatest joys growing up.

Anyhow, Megaman X3 was a big deal for me too, because it was the first Megaman game that I owned. Before that, I never really played any of the Megaman games, due to not having any consoles. And man, this game rocked. The anime intro, the music, stage design, bosses. All very memorable. I was just thinking about Megaman X3 last week, why wasn't this game available on GOG or Steam. And here we are now, with all the games to be released soon!

Just asking though, what's different about the SNES version? I know that the PC version was based on the PlayStation version, which is the most likely one they will base it on. I myself actually prefer it best on Saturn though.

Oh that's interesting. I never really noticed that, since I primarily play the PC version back in the day. But I do know that the PC versions of Street Fighter Zero 1 and 2 had missing frames and background detail. I noticed it only when I finally had a PlayStation a few years later though. Well, I will enjoy replaying Megaman X3 in its proper form next year then. Sweet!
