Hi all,
The content of a Chinese DVD that was burned using Ashampoo Burning Studio by another computer using LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S.
The DVD can be opened by that computer successfully without any Mojibake.
But when I would like to open it on a HP notebook, it could not read the content of the DVD. It even states that the DVD is 0 bytes. May I know how can I access the content of a Chinese DVD on this notebook?
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

QUOTE(leetran @ Apr 24 2007, 06:41 PM) Try to change DVD region. Thanks, leetran, By the way, the DVD-RAM drive that cannot read that Chinese DVD is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N. The current region is not selected. Changing region will be permanent after 5 times. I guess I don't want to take that risk. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

1. u can try to install the language pack under control panel -> regional settings -> language pack 2. u can try apps like DVD Region Free -> http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm to make sure ur counter doesnt get any lower. or u can try http://tdb.rpc1.org/ to flash ur firmware but wrong move would result in irrepairable damage to ur DVDRom
