Been using maxis One plan for a long time it's usually really fast and reliable
now that they gave us extra quota on weekends it sounds great.(almost switch out of maxis before this but decided to stay due to this)
However the internet speed is literally shit almost close to zero when i'm trying to download videos,some computer software, and torrent (HOTSPOT to PC)
Other than that the speed was just fine, i'm thinking they might be throttling back the speed on the maxis side because other application works just fine
If i'm given free (25GB for my case) during the weekend shouldn't i be free to use it as i wish rather than limiting on what can i use them on?
Sounds good that we're getting free weekend Data and looks good on paper when competing with other service providers but this is a shitty deal
and Maxis didn't inform me about this. I personally think it's a cheat on us customers, and bdw did you ever noticed the price for topping up data ? 1GB for RM30
I'm very very disappointed with maxis again and again, i'll be switching to anything but maxis next week.

No networks promise you good a reliable speeds. Sometime we just have to deal with it

what i was not happy about is the fact that they throttle back the speed when i want to download a large file such as a video or torrent.

Well when you signed the plan, you also signed for fup.. speed test app is something wonderland from.the Telco to us to see how fantastic they are.. the actual results are mlsyu rely on the reliability of the servers of that content providers

I think you should put it in writing (email) to Maxis and see what their reply is. You have the right to tell them what you think. Writing here, they pick and choose what they feel like replying or not. I had enough of Maxis attitude take it or leave.

Does Maxis have a standard on their 4G and 3G speed?
Some places can get 45Mbps on 4G and some places can only get 10Mbps.

Any telco also same. It depends on signal strength, signal quality, congestion etc.
Those sites with 4T4R enabled will get you better DL thruput

FUP is one thing if you're getting unlimited data coz then yes, you can hog the bandwidth 24-7.

but if one's got limited data, like in the case of OP where he said he's got 25GB, he should be allowed to use it up anyway he likes it. after that 25GB is used up, then either he gets really slow speed, or pay to get more again.

I noticed lately 4G speeds have been quite shitty.

At times, the pages would be stuck at loading, and reconnecting (off and on mobile data) does the trick.

Hi @maxis, I'm experiencing the same situation as them and previously I complained to your CS team and they reverted the throttle .

Now I have to use VPN to overcome your shitty throttle again.

Same case as previously, when I use VPN , speed is lightning fast, without VPN, slower than your competitors.

Please acknowledge my case and let me know when you'll fix your throttle AGAIN.

Doesn't sound good. I was just surfing the MaxisOne Home Fibre and Maxis Go Wifi plans and just stumbled upon this thread. It is surely very useful to read about owners' experiences. Once signed up on the plan there is no turning back. Or should I say there is turning back but one would lose some money when switching to other plans.

I paid RM 499 for Maxis Enterprise with 5 lines or average RM 100 per line with 20GB quota per line. These days, the quality of service almost on par with U Mobile. Many areas no coverage or slow 4G. 3G don't bother, either slow or non-responsive.

Each time called Maxis always same answer. Either "no plans to improve area coverage" or "restart device".

I have every telco in my company, u name it. Maxis, yoodo, unifi mobile, U Mobile and DiGi. There other 4 no problems. 4G is fast and stable. Plus, way cheaper than Maxis!

After 2019, will cancel Maxis forever after 20 years as loyal customer.

maxis very slow these days for my area. Want to browse insta and twitter also cannot. I cannot even browse anywhere because speed is too slow. My area 4g and it is even worse than streamyx.

Yeah man, I know what you mean, really terrible now. I can have full signal strength on my phone, 4G, but performance is horrible. Takes up to 15 seconds sometimes for anything to start download, streaming.

The issue seems to be global.

Lodged a report before, 3 addresses, got 3 calls over the next few days saying the issue had been rectified, but performance still lousy.

I couldn't be bothered to complain anymore, no point, just like Celcom.

Speed test is very misleading, just show's the speed when it finally runs. What it doesn't show is that sometimes, it takes up to 15 seconds to connect to a local server.

Hi maxis, i think have about 2 to 3 months your line at my area unstable before a good. Line is full. I always use 4G but it keep change to H a lot of time. It so terrible i cant even play a good game. And sometime internet wont run. Later will pm you those detail u require.

Hi Maxis ... I also encountering bad network connection with all my Maxis line inside my house. Previously Im able to get stable 4G connection but now most of the time only able to connect to H or H+. Kindly look into the matter my current location Putra Heights Subang Jaya. Very frustrating when i pay so much but unabel to connect to 4G for its full potential. MAXIS PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER URGENTLY

why is the internet speed on my Hotlink prepaid and maxis postpaid are not the same even though both devices are in the same exact location?

always felt that prepaid is way slower as compared to maxis one.

Well I think, postpaid users is more important.. ARPU also higher.. So priorities are given by using the maximum bandwidth available...
