my first proc was a 8088..running at a speedy 4.86mhz...thumbup.gif couldnt find a pic of that proc on the site

chip 39 & 40 is an 8086. that's the embedded version.

8087 & 8088 is the math-co-processors and FPU's

i do hope someone post captain obvious meme here

anyway, just to set the record straight, during those early 90's years, AMD is struggling. not many knows AMD and scared that using AMD basesd PC won't let them run windows

it's the same thing during the late 80's where the "IBM-PC COMPATIBLE" is the rage since eveyrone thinks IBM IS the PC and every other brand is just a clone and won't run your WordStar or CorelDraw or MS-DOS 5.0
