For me normal mode photo with people will use auto focus, manual focus if need to change the exposure of the photo (some back light or may be not enough lighting), portrait mode will let it auto focus to enable the portrait mode (adjusting the distance in between object and your phone) then only manual adjust the focus to get the focus I want.

Not sure you get my idea or not, just my experience sharing. smile.gif

First try long exposure mode in Live Photo with car light, not perfect but can be better in future.
Edit the colour a lot in Instagram to highlight the effect.

Actually don't know why I always see there is a bit grey for all the digital camera photo before edit. May be is my eye problem then I will keep comparing to the real world colour and at last need to edit it. iPhone definitely more warm but sometime it is too over.
