I'm currently waiting for my car at the paintless dent repair.

2 dents cost RM300! sweat.gif

Dunno cheap or expensive. They said normally 1 dent will cost Rm200.

Ini semua thank you those who opened their doors recklessly! mad.gif

RM300 you can respray a panel but the advantage of paintless dent repair is that you don't have to worry about colour matching if you respray. However if some of the paint has dropped out PDR will still leave a mark.

Nicks in the door panel due to careless opening of doors is common. It's not going to be the last nick you get on the doors. Unless my car is a Ferarri or Porsche I would just leave it.

If it left a mark, then the shop should not charge you the whole amount.

Don’t like respraying as color matching can be difficult. Also, I prefer the original paint.

Also, it really depends on the dent. If it’s minor and small, then it’s negligible. If it’s huge and an eyesore (especially when the dent is within driver’s view eg driver’s door etc) then, I think it’s a good investment to do it.

IMHO just for coin size dent to spend that much, really2 not worth it coz it's a rip off!

Where did you do this? Coz they have many branches, so all same pricing is it? I will try check in one of the branches nearby my office and see.

Got branches? I only know 3 places -

1 at puchong behind tesco which is pretty well known
1 at pandan indah by a Korean guy but he gave up already and now doing respraying instead laugh.gif
1 at seri kembangan which is pretty new.

I went to the seri kembangan. Good workmanship.

really depends on the experience of the guy and the location of the dent.

i remember doing PDR in canada on an audi tt for like $50 first dent and $30 subsequent dents.

never had a mark or sign that there was ever a dent, other than 1 spot where the line of the car is.

RM200 to press out a dent is too much! These people are killing their own business.

Mine was a ten cents dent and after the repair, the mark was visible as the metal had been stretched! Therefore, the mark is still visible if one look closely! Maybe the workmanship was not up,to mark! Ended up doing touched up by repair shop!

That’s suppose to be the way here but there are less competitors. Hence, price is controlled.

Which one did you go? Usually, if the dent is not 100% fixed, they won’t charge the full amount. To be fair, some places are hard to fix.

I believe I did at the same place, the boss is an uncle and a nice guy. I did around 10+ dents mostly caused by other people's door and stone chips (including one mid-size dent around 10cm). He managed to fix all except 1 or 2 (still have minor mark).

Pretty good option if you care for your car paint because respraying won't have the original paint look (due to age and etc). Also depends on your car's material, brand new cars with aluminium mix is much stronger and hard to fix.

Yup, his name is johnny. Nice guy. He came from puchong dent, jerry. Believe he had years of experience there and opened his own shop at seri kembangan. I was lucky as I did mine at off peak hours and he had time to do the dents properly.

How much did he charge you for all the dents?

I did mine at off peak as well so he had plenty of time. It also depends on the location of the dents which may make it harder. I paid around RM700+ for mine (4 panels) after bargaining. Probably re-spraying will cost the same but I wanna maintain the original paint haha.

Expensive since the workshop uses special machine to mend the dent.
from what I know it won't leave any mark since induction method is used, something like this one:

painless dent just a marketing strategy depends on how serious the damage is ..

If it pointing towards inwards too much. They will still need to dismantle some parts and knock it from inside. Inside there are knocking damages but you will not see it anyways .. ( better dont see or you will cry )

It also depends on what tools they use. Professional and expensive shops normally use impact absorbent tools that will not damage vehicle paint job or inside out. That is why they quote more expensive

You guys should be happy. Normally these only available in KL.

Don’t just believe all the picture they upload. 10 out 3 was flawless. That 7 never posted. All matter is the location you hit, the size and how long ago. They can repair but you will still see warp. Think logically if all can be fix the paint body shop will all close down. OCD is hard to accept, but remember times will pass and things will older. Small dent just better leave it. Save the money for your next car. This car will never companion you lifetime. Accept the fact and move on.

Hi,
I'm thinking, I mean I was curious how often do people get their cars washed, polished, and detailed ? I do it once in every three years but I think I need to be more frequent since its getting old.

Thanks!
