Guys, when I was showering just now a thought suddenly came up.
Remember when Apple removed the headphone jack last year and replaced it with a barometer of some sort and everyone bashed Apple for doing that because apparently there is enough room to fit the jack in?

My thought is that Apple removed the jack in 2016 so when they announce the X without the home button, the shock that will follow if they announced that they removed the jack will send some people crazy. Given how tight the space is inside the X.
So in other words they primed us with the absence of the jack, so when they remove the home button, it won't be such a huge deal anymore.

This might also explain why the AirPods are originally delayed like crazy because it was intended for 2017, but Apple had to prime all of us so they rushed it to announce on 2016.

Just a thought.

11.2 greatly improved battery life for me.
My battery stats was 45 minutes usage and I’m at 97%.
Usually 45 minutes of usage will be around 90% to 91%

Gmail app user reporting in. Seems ok on my phone. Are you having issues?

I like the iOS mail app (simple), outlook, boxer and even spark (more usable and complex) but I always end up back with gmail app for my 5 Google mailboxes..

I’ve tried multiple email clients, including Apple’s own. Never really got the hang of them. I like how gmail organises emails by promotion, primary, and social. And it only notifies me when email is sent in to primary. Other clients like Apple’s one give me that horrible email sound with every single email that comes in.

I don’t need notification for domino’s latest pizza deal laugh.gif

US set got two model: A1865 and A1901

only thing to be aware is that Model A1901 does not support CDMA networks, such as those used by Verizon and Sprint.

My unit is A1865.
iirc A1865 is Qualcomm modem and A1901 is intel modem. Both models support GSM networks so both should be fine to use anywhere.

Where do you get your unit which is A1865?
*
I got mine from Apple New Zealand. I’m currently living there now. Apparently Australia and New Zealand uses A1865 because we have some special LTE bands that only A1865 can utilise.

I think it’s the 700Mhz band not too sure.

Guys, is AppleCare+ worth it?
It's quite expensive for a 2 year coverage plan. I'm usually quite careful with all of my stuffs but the X just feels very fragile and delicate.
Or should I just settle with just a screen protector and a case?

Where is AASP?

Who wants refurbished set when we all paid for full price.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with refurbished phones, I don't understand why people are complaining about it.
People are getting their phones replaced by Apple for no fees at all or a very small fee in relative to the original RRP that they paid.

Besides, Apple refurbishment process meaning that your replacement device has been personally carefully examined to be absolutely free of defects before giving it to you.

Refurbishment Process
Each Apple Certified Refurbished Product:

undergoes full functionality testing and any defective modules identified in testing are replaced.
Apple Watch and Apple Pencil devices that require replacement parts are not included in the Apple Certified Refurbished Program.
is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, and new boxes).
includes either the Operating System originally shipped with the unit or, in some cases, a more recent version.
is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock.
is given a new refurbished part number and serial number.

Refurbishment procedures follow the same basic technical guidelines as Apple’s Finished Goods testing procedures.

But iPhone X is new around the world, where do they find refurbish for replacement?
*
If it's too new Apple usually gives out brand new phones.
There will be two kind of stocks, one is normal for retail consumers and another is express replacement stocks iirc.
When time goes by they'll probably give out replacement units.

Is there anyway way to check whether the phone is refurbished?

If not mistaken they come with different product code numbers or serial numbers that indicate they are replacement/refurbished sets.
*
I think they will tell you its certified? Not too sure, the difference is so small it's negligible.

You use what you like but if you have nothing better to do than shitpost in an iPhone sub forum then you’re looking for nothing but trouble.

‘Outdates’ Hardware? Hahahaha
Do you know the TrueDepth system is one of the most advanced biometric/camera hardware ever? The amount of sensors Apple embedded into that tiny space is absolutely amazing. revolutionary, some might even say.

But hey who am I to judge what you think about the iPhone. If all you can afford or be happy with is an android phone so be it. No point shitposting here.
