for second question you can try this trick:

Settings > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch (Turn ON)

instead of slide up, stare at your screen, when locked icon become unlocked, 3D touch your assistive touch

if you dont like 3D touch, you can custom to single-tap, double-tap or long press

Actually mine also got 1 dot of dust under the screen, near the btm (swipe up area).
Though of asking for a replacement but see the process of u getting quite some hassle, i will wait in the future to get mine replaced liao
