for iBook G4, RAM is PC2100 or PC2700.
for iBook G4, HDD is up to 100GB, but no limits here, if you can find a larger IDE drive, go ahead.

most laptops use the 2.5" HDD, but you need to find out which iBook you have. Go look at the page I linked, compare it to your Mac, and also click the Apple logo in the top right and click "About this Mac" .

That should give me some necessary information about your computer...

cheap HDD = lowyat ... the thing is, iBook is quite 'leceh' to open up. best thing is, call a service center, they will sell you the HDD and install for you as well.

same goes for RAM. the spec for your iBook should be PC2100 DDR, and PC2700 will work as well. the main thing is, will the shop you buy the RAM from, warranty it from causing crashes?
find out... and buy it from them if they will...

Well there is iFix it , you can google for it on how to open the iBook step-by-step with pictures.

The RAM is somewhat easier to upgrade. I suggest you to get one of those cheap rams , im using just fine. For HDDs , its somewhat difficult and tricky to upgrade. But its well worth the thing in the long run.

I prefer to keep the old HDD first , use carboncopycloner or CloneTool to clone back the HDD
