Hi Guys, i just bought a ps4 pro, and my console is having a tough time connecting to PSN.

Most of the time, when i want to get it connected, it wont. sometime it can get connected, but disconnect like after 5 minutes? Whats wrong? is there some setting that i need to do with my reuter?

i am using 30mbs Unifi. I can serve the next quite good via my ps4 pro. i can you tube and such. the only problem is to get connected and maintain connectivity with PSN

any idea on how to resolve this?

my other console works pretty well. Switch, Ps3, 3ds, psp even wii.

try set the DNS to google DNS or OpenDNS.. mine have the same problem a few week ago and the problem solved after changing the DNS to google DNS

Hi Everyone, tried setting the google DNS. no change, infact worst.

i went through namebench and ty it shows google and open dns is pretty bad.

unless i am doing it wrongly (using namebench).

point to note: i just want to play PES18 with my friends via online.

proposal:

1. try login PSN using your laptop/pc/phone app with the same network.
- is it still having problematic connection?

2. bring your PS4 Pro to a friend's house and try to connect.
- is it having same problem?

3. try login your PS4 with another account (create a different account or use friend's one)
- is it having similar problem?

1. can get connected.
2. not practical for me to test this out.
3. similar problem.

try using wired connection to your ps4?

Have you really change the DNS in PS4 to Google DNS? i don't think you need Namebench or any software to change the DNS..

FYI, google DNS IP is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

4. try pulling a LAN cable for connection instead, and don't forget to off your PS4's wifi if you try this.

5. the PSN login which you're using - is it R1/R2/R3? the one that you tried with (3) --> same region as per your original?

6. if you have decent amount of mobile data, why not try hotspot connection - just to try login to PSN?

the namebench is just for me to identify any other DNS which are good for my location.

btw, have you tried other games - i mean, what is your actual connection issue:

1. PSN connectivity intermittent

2. PES18 servers connection intermittent

if you try playing other online games, will it face similar issue?

yeah you need disconnect your wifi connection when plugging lan cable.
or not it will still connect using wifi.
on Xbox One & 360 it auto disconnect wifi. I learn it the hard way
but I forget how to do it. sorry

Unfortunately yes. any multiplayer activity on Ps4 requires an active PS+ subscription.

ok. how much does it cost to subscribe?

currently it is rm129 for 1 year, rm43 for 3 months, rm21 for 1 month, sometimes got discount or other promo like give extra 3 month for 1 year subscription

what isp are you using? does 30 mbps unifi fullfill the requirement to fully enjoy that subscription?
